cycle buddies 20!!!
I guess I'll start a new one!
Tamarin and Cookie where are you? Is somebody having a baby...you guys gotta check in!!!!
Alana- how are you doing? Thanks for the 'glowing' compliment! Although, I think I'm just always a little flush in the cheeks from being soooooooo frickin' hot ! It was almost embarrassing at the shower,,,,everybody was putting on sweaters because I had turned on an overhead fan...and I was STILL sweating!!! lmao! What a !!! How are your classes on going? I looked into the classes here...and I wasn't be able to take them...they were all already started for nov and they seem to take the month of dec off for the most part...so , oh well.
Amanda-Thanks for the compliment, too. As for your registry....I don't know when the time is...but I don't think it really matters. You can always start one and add/remove items as you get further along. I just know it is sooo fun to go and register. Me and dh loved it! BUt...nobody at my shower new about our registry until the invites went out so it wasn't really used in my case...but it was still fun!
I don't know if I told you guys , but dh kept insisting that he didn't want a bassinette or cradle...and I told him I did. I had dd sleep w/me ( for way tooooo long ) and I really couldn't see this little guy sleeping in his own in his own room right away. It made me to think about...well, dh surprised me and bought a cradle! He said he was only teasing me about it, but I think it was me actually that made him think twice! lol Here's a pic
We're done with the room almost - just have to find a border....ttyl.
Where is everybody??!!??

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Well, I've been crying all morning. I got the results from my 2hour GTT and they were all high. I failed.
The results...
Normal high fasting = 5.3, mine 5.4
Normal high 1 hr = 10.6, mine 10.8
Normal high 2 hr = 8.9, mine 9.4
Looks like I am developing gestational diabetes. Not sure whether I will have to just modify my diet, or if I will have to start insulin. I have to meet with someone from the diabetes association. My midwife is setting that up.
The worst part about all of this, is I can't see my midwife anymore. My care has to be transferred to an OB because I am not within the "norm" anymore. I am so upset.
Atleast she is letting me pick my OB. I'm not supposed to be able to choose that either. It is supposed to be whoever is on call today, but she said if the OB I want is not on call, she will wait until he is, then contact him.
I am so sad that the person who I have gained all this trust in, has cared for me since 8 weeks, now can't see me anymore. Now I have to build a relationship with someone else, really quick. I only have 10 weeks left. I was planning on staying home and laboring as long as possible here, now that won't happen. I will have to go to hospital sooner.
And, better yet, the OB I choose may not even deliver my baby, I might have to have another deliver, depending who is on call.If it is during the day, mine will deliver. If it is at night, or on the weekend, it's whoever is on call.
I am just so heart broken.
Thanks for listening....
Angie, sounds like the shower was a success. So nice to have a surprise. I LOVE the cradle.
Jima, we need more pics! Glad all is well.
Cookie and Tamarin, where are you 2?
Alana, I can't wait to see pics of your lights, I'm sure it will look great. Natn'l Lampoons is my fav X Mas movie!

This child will have hazel eyes and a little patch of brown hair.

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Hi girls!
Angie-I LOVE the cradle! It's so cute! That was so sweet of your Dh. I can't wait to see pics the finished pics of your nursery when you get the border up. I haven't started b/f classes yet. I'm still waiting on them to send me something in the mail and then I can enroll. We've already paid them..maybe I need to call.
Michele-Oh, I'm so sorry hun. That stinks! More than likely they will try you on the diet and see how it works for you. Really, it's no that bad once you get used to it. I feel a lot healthier since I've been on it (2 weeks now). I'm sorry you have to switch to an OB after you have gotten to know your midwife so well. I know what you mean about not knowing who will deliver your baby b/c it's whoever is on call that day. It's the same way at the hospital where I am delivering also. There are 4 doctors and it could be any one of them. I met one of the other 3 today and she was very nice. I still REALLY hope I get my dr. though! Hang in there hun! The diet's not that bad once you get used to it. I promise.
Well, I had a dr.'s appt. today and I LOST 3 pounds!! Woo-hoo! I was soooo happy about that! My blood pressure was also down a bit. It was 102 over something and it's usually 115ish. I wonder if that's from the diet also? Anyway...work was pretty busy this morning. We had a lot of Thanksgiving centerpieces to make. Speaking of, what's everyone's plans for Turkey Day? We are going to my MIL's at 1:00. Well, just wanted to check in. I'll talk to you girls later.

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Hi girls!
I am still here, looking like a big fat elephant!
Angie - lovely pics of your baby shower, what a wonderful surprise that was for you as I know you were anxious about it. I laughed so much about the game you played (guess the poop! - how funny!). I love your bassinet and look forward to pics of your finished nursery.
Michelle - so sorry to hear about your news, I would be upset to. I hope that everything will work out for you in the end and you have some good support from whichever health professionals are assigned on the day, I am sure you will.
Alana - We don't celebrate thanksgiving here, but I know that it is a lovely time to get together with family and have a huge feast, as when I was a nanny in America, I joined in with the baby's family celebrations.
I have got someone coming around to our house tomorrow morning to discuss what sort of groups/workshops/classes are held in the area in which I live to take the baby to. I can't wait to stimulate the baby through classes like sing and sign, baby massage, swimming etc and meet new mums! Most of them are free to which is a bonus. Will let you know how it goes!
I saw my midwife 2 days ago and my parents came with me this time as Neil was at work. They were amazed at hearing the baby's heartbeat and looked like very proud grandparents to be! When my mum had me, all the midwife had to listen to my heartbeat was an ear trumpet and they had no such thing as a scan!
I have been getting lots of braxton hicks contractions the past few days, especially last mon night and the baby has been pushing down further into my pelvis which I guess is good but a little uncomfortable! It's head is definately 3 fifths engaged now coming on for 2 fifths. My feet and ankles are really swollen, like tree trunks and my blood pressure is a bit higher this week but nothing to worry about as still in the norm and expected at this late stage.
Anyway, speak to you all later,
love,
Tamarin.xxx

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Hi girls,
Well, just thought that I would check in and post a couple of pics of the front and back of our house at the moment as we have had thick snow arrive! Neil is stuck at work about 25 miles away and the roads are just too trecherous to drive on. It would be just my luck now if I go into labour!
Even though I want this baby out so much,I hope it decides to stay put for now until the weather clears!
Hope you all had good thanksgivings!
love,
Tamarin.xxx

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Wow - beautiful pics Tamarin! I hope baby bump stays put for now, too...at least until dh is home and the weather is easier to travel in. Any labor signs yet?
Alana- Woo hoo!! -3lbs! that's great! I guess that's the best thing about your diet...it'll keep weight from creeping on! As for me, I've started your old diet....banana nut bread I've baked 4 loaves these past 2 wks! I really REALLY need to get a grip- I have an appt next week...and I just KNOW I'm not going to have lost any weight this time. How was the holiday at your mil's?
Michelle-you have snow, too? How nice!! We just have a few sprinkles today...nothing exciting-
Have you guys picked out your coming home outfits for baby yet? We had one, but dd keeps changing the whole bag around! I'm not surprised, she takes an hour to get dressed to leave the house pre-teen! lol

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Hi girls! How was everyone's Thanksgiving?
Tamarin-Snow? It's almost 80 degrees F here today. UGH! The snow looks beautiful. I was just telling DH how I wish we lived near a snowy climate so we could go sleding. I do hope it clears up so that's it's safe for you to drive though.
Angie-Beware the banana "butt" bread! It'll put it on you quick. But it is soooo good. How did your turkey turn out? Ours was pretty good. My MIL was pretty pleasant yesterday. She did pawn off some HORRIBLE cross-stitched pics she thought would look good in the baby's room. They are from the 70's in ugly frames w/ ugly matts and are just ugly and do not match what-so-ever. I'll post a pic of them....you'll see. LOL! There is NO way I'm going to hang them. LOL!
Here's a couple pics from yesterday. One is of me, DH, my BIL and his fiance. The other is of the four of us and DH's grandma. Nice sweater. I'm so going to hell. LOL!

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
You are right! - you are sooo going to hell for the that! Leave grandma alone!!!! Did your mil make the pics? or buy them...what are you going to tell her about why they are not hung.....sorry sister....but the "it has lead in it" excuse won't work like it did w/the killer cradle!
Our turkey turned out great! Dh was sooo nervous..but it was excellent...it was ridiculous though, we had enough food for an army....and there only were 4 of us!! OMG!! lol AND - banana butt bread is right- my tummy looks like I somehow swallowed the turkey whole!! lol I'll post a pic later.
Tamarin- are we going to get one last baby bump picture?

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Hi girls!
Angie-I'm so glad your dinner turned out good. I think we have finally killed the rest of the leftovers that we took home. It's a good thing b/c I really need to get back on my diet! LOL! The ugly frames were bought by my MIL's sister at a garage sale. I'm just going to tell her that they don't match and I don't like the way they look. I'm done coming up with excuses. It's our kid's room, not hers. Patrick is sick of dealing with them and the way they give you stuff and expect you to use it. There is soooo much more stuff that they have handed down to us that we hate. LOL! I know this sounds aweful and mean and ungrateful, but you should see some of it!!! It's aweful and doesn't match anything and they really expect you to hang it in your house! LOL! You should see our wedding gift from her....don't even get me started. I swear, I'm really not an ungrateful person. But it's like they do it on purpose....find something that totally clashes w/ your house and give it to you! LOL! She (MIL) makes stained glass thingys and gives them to everyone every x-mas. Last year she made DH a stained glass golfer. It was cute, but it's not going in our livingroom b/c it doesn't go with anything. He put it in his office, which is golf themed and it looks really good there. But she got offened when she came over and asked where it was. Sorry lady but I'm not going to tacky up my house to spare your feelings. Man....you guys are going to think I'm really aweful. But do you get it? It's like something off of a Seinfield episode. It's not just us either. They do the same thing to his brother and fiance. It's a running joke between the four of us. Anyway.....enough of that.
Tamarin-Where are you? Did you have that baby yet? AAHHHH!!! I can't believe it's going to be any minute now. You have really got me on my toes!
Amanda-Did you watch the Florida vs. Florida State game last night? We kicked their butts! YAY!
Hi everyone else!
I am 30 weeks today!!! Woo-hoo! The 10 week countdown begins! I can't believe it. You know what I realized the other day? We have been chatting w/ each other on this thread for almost a year now! A year ago we were all just meeting and TTC and now we are all going to be moms so soon!
Dh went to Tampa to the game this morning w/ his brother. I am already bored and it's only 9:45am here. Ugh. I guess I will do some house work. I'll talk to you girls later.

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Hi girls!
Just checking in so you know that I am still waiting for this baby to arrive! DH came home sat lunchtime, after the majority of the snow had melted. He stayed at a friends house not far from where he works. I can't tell you all how relieved I felt when he was home, I was so panicking about the baby deciding to arrive when nobody could get to me!
I have been so exhausted the past couple of days and haven't felt like doing a lot really. DH, Eva and I got our xmas tree in from the garden today and decorated it, so we are all decorated for xmas now!
Alana - I don't think that you sound ungrateful at all, everyone has their own tastes of what looks good. It is awkward when you receive something you hate! I can't believe that you are at the 30 wk mark and we have been chatting for nearly a year - amazing! Like your thanksgiving pics!
Angie - Yes, I have the going home outfit all packed and ready for the baby to wear. A lot of it my mum knitted and it is very christmassy! You will all have to wait to see a pic of the baby wearing it!
Hope everyone else has had a good weekend?!
Speak to you all later,
love,
Tamarin.xxx

Re: cycle buddies 20!!!
Okay...I promise to be nice again after this post. But I thought I'd share some of our gifts with you girls so you can see what we are talking about.....
Here is the stained glass fish my MIL made for us when one of our fish died.
Here is our wedding gift from my MIL. I know she spent a lot of time on it, but it's pink and HUGE!
Here is a vase that his aunt made us...also a wedding gift
Here are some ornaments that were given to us by another aunt. There's an M&M, a plastic angel, a taxi and an orange. Lovely.
Here is a stepping stone that MIL made for us last year for X-mas.
And here are some goblets from the 70's (literally) that his aunt gave us as an engagement present. Thanks.
Also, I'd like to add that it's not like these people are poor or anything if that's what you are wondering. They have money to buy stuff. But why buy when you can just hand down? LOL! EVIL! Okay, so now do you see where I am coming from? LOL!
