Threatened Miscarriage
Hello everyone,
I'm a 29yo first time preggers, and I'm at 10 weeks and 5 days. I had my first transvag ultrasound yesterday. The baby was kicking and wiggling around and the tech said usually the babies are not as active as mine is at this point in the pregnancy. I took that as a good sign. The heartbeat was strong and fast, so another good sign I thought. Well I got with my doc afterwards and he said the tech found that my amniotic sac is compressed and this could lead to miscarriage. He says the movement and heartbeat are good signs but I'm still in a high risk even though I'm not overweight, over 30, a smoker or a drinker, and I'm in otherwise good health. He is having me come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and exam. He says my pregnancy is now labeled "threatened miscarriage". I did some google searches on threatened miscarriage and is it usually accomponied by bleeding and cramping, which I do not have, or a weak fetal heartbeat, which is also not my case.
I am beyond frightened. I have not told my family or friends that I am pregnant. Only my fiance knows. We only tried for one month before we got pregnant, and I knew that was just too easy. All the women I know had to try for months and most had to go to fertility treatments or invetro. I have been scared since I saw the BFP on the pee stick. This pregnancy came to easy, I wanted to wait until the first prenatal visit to tell family. Well now that I'm high risk, I still haven't told my family.
Has anyone else here had issues with a compressed sac? I can't find any info on any baby or medical site with a list of causes of compressed gestational sacs or it's risk to the fetus. I'm sure my doc explained some of it to me, but after he said the words threatened miscarriage, the room went dark. All I've ever wanted was to be a mom, and now that is endangered. Any info/help/advice/guidance... is greatly appreciated.
