Kids' attitude to circumcision
Hello everyone,
A few weeks ago, my 12 year old son, who is not circumcised, came home one day and asked me why he wasn't circumcised. He now wants to have it done because all of his friends are. This surprised me, because I had never thought it would be an issue, especially as my husband was keen not to do it because he wished he hadn't been. This got me thinking: we make decisions for our children in their best interests, but often, they don't always agree with us. This doesn't neccesarily mean they were the wrong decisions, but it's food for thought.
Whether you circumcised your son or not, I was wondering what your children have said to you about it. Did it surprise you? Did it make you rethink your decision? We make these choices for our children based on what we think they want, but I'm interested in hearing what they've actually said to you about it.
We told Josh we'd think about it while we packed him off to camp. Things change so quickly at that age, so we'll see what happens when he gets back!
