Boys with foreskin get diagnosed with 'assumed infections'
What are assumed infections it is when a boy is suffering from Seperation Trauma that a doc who just looks at it says infection calls it balantits.
Then prescribes meds for the child that are definetly not needed at all.
Seperation Trauma- to the unknown is something that can get you worried because of how a child can have various stage of pain from mild to even severe , smegma discharge which is white cottage cheese look like pus but is not pus sometimes there is a hint of yellow or red normal. A boy can feel pain during peeing time because during the seperation process the foreskin is detaching leaving little micro tears so when urine goes over them it causes them to burn.
Seperation Trauma is not a One time thing it can happen once a year, once a month for some, every other 3-6 months.
The unknown and the recurrence of seperation trauma which may get a doctor consider it a recurrent foreskin infection which is absolutely false.
So I suggest if you do go to your son's pedi make sure he does a swab of both things(bacterial and fungal) because why would you want to put your son on medicine when he doesn't need to be ?
Plus unneeded antibiotics can create more vunerabilty to getting yeast infections and if a boy is suffereing from yeast the antibiotic will make the yeast flourish as in grow more so that is why you need to know whether he has an infection and what type it is because if you don't get the right medicine your issue won't heal up .
Remember No Forceful Retracting or Gently Retracting of the Foreskin it's up to the child when he becomes retractile he is the only one who knows how far he can retract without hurting himself.
Otherwise infections will be more likely and also avoid soaps on the glans.
Soaps from stores are detergent based filled with carcingeon causing chemical soap . So they are not good for are our coochies or any male glans.
Overzealous use of those soaps can create an enmormous amount of yeast.
Remember Yeast and bacterial infection are easy to treat if that's what people do have .
Also, I can understand why a doctor thinks seperation trauma which is normal is a infection and a recurring one because my son went through seperation trauma and I thanking many moms who had gone through that warned me what too look for if it wasn't for them I proably would have ran to the doctor myself and my son would have been diagnosed with balantitis .
My son's sxs were pain, very red inflamed foreskin, swollen, a lil small dab of smegma coming out, he had issues with wanting to pee so he was going through those urine burn things. he was all better within 24 hrs and he could even sleep at nite time!
Two weeks later he became partial retractable!
