Cory,

It's really hard to say without some more information. Have you taken a preganancy test yet? If so, was it recent?

Brown spotting is recorded as just that -- spotting. It's not menses until it's red. Was your spotting brown or red? How many days did you spot? Are you just coming off of birth control of some sort? Do you have any information from charting, OPK's, or cervical mucus?

It really could be any number of things. Some women spot around ovulation, some at implantation, some spot even when they're preganant (false periods). Some just have really light periods. If you're just coming off bcp's or depo, it could just be random mid-cycle spotting and you could be having an really long cycle. It's pretty common for women coming off birth control to have irregular (i.e. long) cycles at first.

I havent been on bC for years. We have been TTC for a few months now. Thats why I had gotten excited last month when I was 2 weeks late. It was just a little bit of brown spotting with mucus until last night, and it got to be bright red, just a little though. I am normally a very regular person until the last 2 months. Would it come 2 weeks early? This really has me disappointed. I thought this would have been my month, we did it right on time to conceive, so this upsets me. Thanks for any help.

Cory, I'm sorry this isn't your month. I'm right there with you -- my temps took a nosedive this morning and AF is due tomorrow. On to cycle #6, I guess. We really nailed it on the timing too, so I had my hopes up

I don't know what to tell you about the wacky timing of your spotting. It doesn't make much sense. But with the red spotting last night, I'd probably start again with cycle day #1 as of yesterday. You didn't say if you had tested... is it possible you had a miscarriage? Hang in there. I know it's frustrating for this to take longer than expected. We go through our whole lives trying to be so careful because everyone tries to tell us how 'it just takes once', but then when we're really trying it's disappointing when it starts to become apparent it's not that easy.

You really may want to start charting. It will start to give you some more insight about when you're really ovulating, if your spotting is really AF, etc. It also makes it easier to get feedback from others about question you're having about your cyles. You can get a free account at fertilityfriend.com. Of course, charting can also be addicting and you might start to obsess like the rest of us about every little dip or rise. At least it helps to pass the time, right? Good luck this cycle!

Yes, I am charting on the fertiltyfriend.com and thats how I figured on what days to try to conceive. I never took a test since I was only 2 weeks into my cycle. I had 2 more weeks until I was going to test. I only spot about every other day. This is so confusing. Thanks for the advice. I am going to wait to see if anything happens near the end of the month for my cycle before I really start my next chart. Thank you again and good luck to you.
