Hi, My name is Teri and I just came across the site while looking for answers to my many questions. Last week I had a 'feeling' I was pregnant but not yet missing my period. Within in about 3 days I took 3 at home tests that were positive, then I took two more which were negative. And by now I should have my period. I was told that it may be a 'problem pregnancy' where I am not producing enough or a hormone to keep the baby alive..? I don't know what to believe I have so many people telling me different things and can't get into the doctor till next week. Does anyone know what could cause this? And what the doctor is going to test for? I would appreciate any input anyone has for me. Thanks so much.

The best thing to do is to get into your doctor's ASAP and get a blood test ordered. It will test the levels of HCG in your system (pg hormone) to see if you are pg-that's the starting point.

Also, different tests measure different amounts of the hormone, or did you use the same brand and lot all of the 5 times?

So, it is very possible that you could be pg, and the baby is just fine. I would do anything to get into the doctor before next week! UG. I'd go crazy!
