My step son who is 5 1/2 is pooping in his pants, he is doing it at school, at his mom's and now at my house, you ask him why and he say's he is too busy, watching tv, playing video games, etc. We'll this has been going on for 6 + weeks, his mom has tried to ground him, and he won't do it while he is ground(from the tv, and his games), she has spanked him, that doesn't help, talking to him doesn't help! Any suggestions, anyone had to deal with something simular, please send me advice!! HELP!!!!

I have been dealing with the same thing with my son (8). I've taking him to the doctors and they just give me laxatives to get him going regular. Doc says the BM starts to sneak out from holding it all the time and eventually the intestine get so enlarged and in turn the BM gets to uncomfortable to push out. I've tried many things with my son (spanking, grounding, taking toys away, etc.) We have gone about 2 months without incident and that's because we haven't been making a big deal about it when he does good. Weird how that works. I've also been giving him an allowance and simply limiting his TV/game time, ecspecially if it's been a few days since he's made a BM. You may want to also look up encropresis (soiling). Hope this helps some. Good Luck! I know it can be FUSTRATING!
