Default Wedding dress dilema

I've been engaged for a year and my wedding is on Oct. 4 2008. Ive already bought my dress and I just recently found out Im 5 wks pregnant and I will be 5 months pregnant by the wedding. Im really excited about it but I bought my dress from davids bridal and im scared they wont let me exchange it or be able to take it out enough. If anyone has any advice or experience with thishttp://www.sheknows.com/graphics/emoticons/ let me know.

Goodness! How about moving up the wedding so you don't have to alter or exchange your dress? Plus a honeymoon will be more fun without the belly... Good luck!

Just lurking...

I got my wedding dress from there also. I had to exchange mine and they did it for me b/c even when they "order" it, they are really just getting it from another store. It is not made unless there isn't one in your size that they can get.

But, I would exchange it now and just get 2-3 sizes bigger.

I am not sure what I would do. Is it feasible to move your wedding date up? I think that would be a good solution if it's possible but I know it may not be possible. You will be 5 months pregnant but it depends on your pregnancy on whether that will make a huge difference to your dress size. I didn't gain any weight with either of my pregnancies till around 24 weeks along (when it all suddenly piled on at once, lol!) but I did need some maternity clothes earlier than that for comfort. So you could be one of those that gains 20 lbs right away or you might not have much of a belly till much later in pregnancy. It's hard to say this early on.

Oh, and something else, even though I did not gain any weight during my 1st pregnancy, I did start having a belly and started showing around 10-12 weeks. Everyone thought I was having twins but I wasn't. So I didn't technically gain weight but did have the belly which was weird.

Lurking from DIJ, have you picked your dress up from them yet? If not I would call and see if you can get it in a different size, even if you have it they may exchange it, I would just give them a call. Also if it's an A-Line dress you may be able to get away w/ just having it let out a little, but I wouldn't get it done at David's they charge WAY TOO MUCH for alterations, ask around and find someone locally to do it.
