What does your screen name stand for? My dd's name is Kylie and I'm her Mommy.

How old are you? 27

How long have you been with your SO? We've been together for nearly 10 years and married for 8.5.

How did you meet? My mom made me go live with my dad when I was 14 and he lived down the road from me and we rode the bus together. I had a crush on him even back then but he was such a jerk back then that I quickly got over it. I moved back in with my mom a few months later and figured I'd never see him again. Then when I was 17, my mom made me go live with my dad again. My dad lived in the same town but a different area. Well, my dad and stepmom (they are divorced now) made me go to their new church with them. I didn't want to go but had no choice. I chalk it up to God's greater plan because that happened to be dh's church and he was there. I was not sure what to think of him since he had been a real creep a few years earlier but he was so sweet and completely different by then...not to mention 19 and much more mature. The rest is history and we've been together since.

Where do you live? Mississippi

Is this where your from? No. I was born in South Dakota and have also lived in Illinois, North Carolina, Arizona, and Florida. I actually lived in Florida more than once as that is where most of my family lives. My parents were in the Air Force which is why we moved so much when I was a kid.

Is this your first pregnancy? No, it's our 2nd.

Do you plan on having more children after this? Originally, we planned to only have 2 but we might go for a 3rd eventually. We are waiting to see how life with 2 kids goes and how things go with my schooling/career before we make a decision about that.

Do you work? If yes what do you do? No. I just graduated with my AAS degree in Health Information Management on Friday night. I have to take my certification test in a couple months to earn my registration. I don't really have to have that but it means more money and more career opportunities so I'm going for it. I also plan to earn my BS degree in it as well hopefully. I will probably start looking for a job by the end of this year at the latest too.

Does you SO work? What do they do? Yes, he works for a gas company. He has been at home on FMLA for the past 5 weeks due to surgery though. He goes back May 19.

Do you have any siblings? 2 brothers and 2 half-sisters. Also an ex-stepsister and a current step-sister. I don't know the current step-sister too well though and we don't have much in common.

Your favorite childhood memory? Too many to list! I loved moving around so much and traveling and I loved all the fun vacations we took!

Your favorite vacation ever? I've had so many fun ones but I think taking our dd to Disney World for her 1st b-day was pretty great. It was wonderful to experience it with her. Dh and I had a blast and so did she.

Favorite kind of food? Mexican, Chinese, and Italian

Do you cook? Bake? I can, but I don't do it often. It's not a hobby of mine, though I do enjoy baking and cooking during the holidays.

Do you have any tats or piercings? No tattoos. I have each ear pierced twice. I used to have each ear pierced 3 times and one of them pierced a 4th time at the top but I had to let those close up because they kept getting infected.

Do you have a Myspace, Facebook, etc? No, people keep trying to talk me into getting both a Myspace page and Facebook but I don't think I'd be able to keep up with either one too well these days.

Care to share it? n/a

Are you religious? I am a Christian.

How often are you on the internet? Less than I was a year ago but more than I should be! I do have trouble keeping up on some of my old boards online though.

What is your favorite online shopping site? JCPenney.com right now because I like their maternity clothes but I doubt I'll be ordering anything else from them since I only have 5 weeks left of this pregnancy.

Your favorite gossip site? I love SK and I love The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com - Powered by vBulletin

Do you have any photos that you would like to share with us? Sure, but it'll have to wait till tomorrow or another day this week since it's late and I'm tired.

What do you hope to accomplish within the next 10 years? I hope to have finished school and have my BS degree in Health Information Management and to be established in a career with it. I hope to buy a new house (preferably away from the ILs!) and to be more financially secure than we are now. And I hope that my 2, or possibly 3, children and dh and I are happy and content.

How do you like to spend your weekends? I love to be lazy and sleep in and I love to get out of the house. That about sums it up. I don't always get to sleep in, obviously, but sometimes dh will entertain Kylie so that I can and it's great!

Do you have any nicknames? My dad and a couple others call me Tash but for the most part no. My dad also can come up with the most ridiculous nicknames for people and I always hate the ones he has for me.

What's your favorite movie? 50 First Dates

What's your favorite book/author? I love the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. I also like Dean Koontz and the Left Behind Series. I enjoy many different types of books, actually.

What are you looking forward to the most about the new baby? I look forward to watching my children grow up together and hopefully developing a bond like I have with my brother. I also am looking forward to having a little boy in the house since I already have my little girl. I really wanted 2 girls at first but now that I've had a few months to get used to the idea I am really excited about having a boy this time.

How do you think your daughter will react to the new addition? For the most part, I think she will love having a baby in the house. She loves babies and is very excited about it. I think she will handle it really well and be a big help. I do think there might be occasional moments of jealousy though but hopefully it won't be too bad.

How much do you have left to do before baby? Funny question! I go in for my c-section 5 weeks from Wed. and I still have sooo much left to do! I have been so busy focusing on finishing school that I'm way behind. We haven't even started on his room yet. We are hoping to get a lot done this week. My baby shower is Saturday so hopefully that will help with some of the stuff we still need too. I didn't have time to really think about it before this week and now that I am, wow, do I realize how fast it is approaching! I am feeling overwhelmed at the moment but I'm sure it will all fall into place soon.

If you could go anywhere in the world for free where would you go and what would you do? I have always wanted to go to Italy since I am half-Italian. I would love to take a gondola ride and just enjoy the scenery, the shopping, and the food. I don't see us going there for a very long time though, if ever.

What is the best date you and dh have ever been on? You know, I honestly don't really know. Dh and I had so many fun times while dating. We went to the movies, out to eat, to an Indian reservation park, water parks, Six Flags, etc. We just really had a blast being together that it didn't matter where we went. The night he proposed to me I think we went out to eat and to a movie and then to his parents' pasture to look at the stars. He had me sit on the toolbox in the back of his pickup truck and he got down on 1 knee and proposed, lol! I guess that was the best date simply because that's when we became officially engaged. But there are so many others that it's hard to pinpoint it down to just 1.

When did yo know that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him? Pretty much from the moment I moved back in with my dad the 2nd time when I was 17. There was just something about him and we clicked right away. It felt so different than it had with past boyfriends and guys I had dated. I actually have a journal I kept back then and I wrote in it that I knew I was going to marry him but didn't know why, just a feeling I had. I wrote that before we even went on our first date, when we were still just flirting and getting to know each other. I guess I just knew! I had definitely never written that about another guy before.

How did having Kylie effect your relationship? It didn't affect it too much actually. If it affected it at all, then I think it made it stronger. It was amazing to see how fast dh bonded to his little girl and they are amazing to watch together now. I think it made me appreciate and love him even more than I already did because there is just something so sexy about watching him bond with her and being such a wonderful Daddy but, other than suddenly having a sweet little girl and adjusting to life as parents and a family of 3, our relationship and our lifestyle didn't change too much. It probably has to do with the fact that we were pretty stable by the time she came along. A few years earlier weren't as great but we worked it out and have been pretty happy for a long time now.

Are you nervous about your c-section? YES, which is kind of crazy since this will be my 2nd time having one and my first went perfectly. I am nervous because I have a different dr. this time and it is the fear of the unknown. Plus, I was already 6 cm dilated by the time they did my c-section with Kylie so they cut me really, really low...right above my pubic area, not even on my stomach really. This time it is scheduled so she's told me she will likely have to cut a little higher. So I am nervous of having to be cut somewhere new and by a different dr. And I'm nervous of having a spinal or being put to sleep (still not 100% decided on what I plan to do yet.) So yeah, you could say I'm nervous! I know it will all be okay in the end though but I guess that's probably a normal fear.

How did you choose a name for your baby? How long did it take? Ugh! Boy names are so hard for dh and I to agree on. We had tons of girls' names that we loved but boys' names were difficult. I liked Elijah and Jacob; dh hated both. He liked Braxton but all I kept thinking of was Braxton Hicks (false labor)! I originally told him that we could name him Braxton if he was a boy so that dh could pick the name but after we found out we were definitely having a boy I had a change of heart and it was back to square 1. I think I was about 24 weeks along before we had the name completely agreed on.

We are naming him Cohen Blake. I actually really liked that name and have since I was about 13 or so. My brother is deaf and a friend of his years ago was also deaf and named Cohen. He was such a sweet kid (probably about 20 years old now which seems unreal!) I really loved the name. Then I watched the OC and they always called Seth Cohen by his last name and I just really liked the way it sounded as a first name. So I had casually mentioned it to dh a couple years ago and he said he didn't like it. So imagine my surprise when he was the one that suggested it this time. Turns out he had remembered it and suddenly really liked it. I wasn't sure though as I wanted the "perfect" name and was still mourning over the fact that he would not consider Elijah or Jacob but I did like Cohen too. Well, after having a few weeks to refer to the baby as Cohen and write it down, etc., I really liked it and can't imagine calling him anything else. I am really glad we are naming him that and that we actually BOTH like it. And that's my book on that, lol!
