Well, my cat Audrey was hit by a car last month But her goofy nickname led to her name. When we brought her home I kept calling her funny-face, which was her nickname for forever after that. But funny-face is also the name of a movie with Audrey Hepburn, who I adore. So hence the name. Now I just got 2 new kittens this week named Shadow and Indiana. I don't have a nickname for Shadow yet, but we call Indiana Indy because he's "Indy-everything"!

Here are a couple of pics ...

Indiana:

Shadow:

Indiana & Shadow:

I'm going to have to start calling Indy big-foot too, he's paws are HUGE compared to the rest of his tiny little body.

We currently only have one animal left. Our other dog got out of the yard on April 15 (the day before dh's b-day) when we let her out to use the bathroom and also got hit by a car. She was an indoor dog so she wasn't careful. We didn't find her for 3.5 days. We had her for over 5 years and it was really awful for me. Her name was Trixie (middle name was Dixie because, yes, I have to give my animals middle names!) She was a beagle and I often called her "Beagle baby". Man, I miss her.

The dog we still have is Sassy (middle name is Lynn) and she's a miniature pinscher. We've had her nearly 6 years and we call her Sassy Lynn and Sassy Harrassy and Rassy sometimes. No idea why. She's a big baby and we're glad we still have her since she also ran off the same day as our beagle...but she came back at least. She's like Houdini and was really good at digging her way out of the yard. She currently has to be on a leash when she goes out now since I'm paranoid of her getting out again and getting hit by a car too.

The only pictures I have uploaded of the dogs are not the best but here's what I have.

This was my beagle baby, Trixie, last year after Kylie "lovingly" covered her with a blanket.

And this is Sassy, also a year ago, with Kylie trying to "love" on her. Hey, strangling your dog is a form of love, ya know? She's much better with Sassy now that she's 3 than when she first turned 2 in that picture.

Tasha I'm so sorry about your dog. It's so hard to loose a pet that's a big part of your family!

Yes, it is, and I am very sorry about your cat too.

I rescued a cat about 7 years ago that was really sick. He couldn't even eat when we got him and I force fed him a little with a syringe. The vet didn't think he'd survive so I was thrilled when he did! However, 6 months later he started getting really, really bad and was dying from feline leukemia. He was literally suffering and the only thing that seemed humane at the time was to have him euthanized. And it took me longer than it should have to have it done because I loved him so much and didn't want to let him go. I finally did but I had dh take him since I knew I couldn't handle it. It was horrible and I bawled for days over that. That was back before kids too so my animals were my kids. I know it was the right thing to do since he was to the point where he couldn't even walk but it was the hardest decision I had ever made at that point. It's very hard to lose an animal that is part of your family, like you said.

I will say though that I never imagined myself loving a child more than my animal back then since I really loved my pets but there is just no love like that for your child. The animals, though I love them, didn't even compare after Kylie was born. I was shocked to see how overpowering my love for her was. Okay, sorry for rambling and getting on a tangent.

I'm gonna cry! I'm sorry about your pets.

I don't know what I'd do without my Bailey Mae! One of my worst fears is that Owen will have allergies and Bailey will have to go outside. That wold be HORRIBLE!

We don't have man nicknames for her. I have ALL KINDS of silly songs for her, but no nicknames... Here's a picture of her at the Relay for Life Dog Show. She won Best Trick and Best Dressed. notice th pearls and tierra

Well. We have a miniature schnauzer name CoCo Latte. I usually call him "Bubba-Boo" and occasionally "Bubba-licious". He is such a mama's boy! He's my little shadow.

Here is CoCo when he was just a pup:

Here he is with Kyrson. They both watch football with Daddy. This was our Christmas card last year too! My cutie pie kids!

Sorry they're so big! I resized them!

Does anyone have any big plans for the weekend? TGIF, you know I can't believe we've made it to the end of another week, but I really don't know where they've all gone to! It's crazy. Each and every Friday has me sitting back a little wondering what happened. There's nothing planned on my end. DH got held up another day with his drive so we're hoping he'll get here late tonight or early tomorrow morning so we hope to just have a family weekend. We really need that right now, you know?

QOTD: 5/30

Who helped make you the cool person you are today?

Thank you It's a nice change. DH is a stinker though, he had us all fooled on when he would be here and showed up Friday morning to take me to go see Sex and the City. It's been a good weekend so far.

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

That's okay. The first time I made spaghetti I wasn't sure how much to cook for dh and I so I made the entire huge bag of it...not realizing how much it would actually make! The pot was so full that it was not even possible to drain the water, it simply got absorbed! It was horrible and I have never made that mistake again. What can I say? I didn't really start cooking until I was married so I had a lot of learning to do!

LOL! Good thng they make easy mac now, huh? And you know, I still have a hard time deciding how much spaghetti to cook!

I had to learn one cooking lesson the hard way...when you are making fried chicken, and want to drain the grease a bit and make some gravy, be SURE to wipe down the sides of the pan before returning it to the burner! Can you say GREASE FIRE!!! Every time my college roommate and I even THINK about making fried chicken, we think of that day! IT's funny now, though...and we didn't even get to eat he meal because we had to break out the fire extinguisher! PITIFUL!

It really is a little hard to judge how much spaghetti to make, isn't it? I always make too much or too little, without fail. It never looks like it's the right amount. But I guess more is better than less. Save it for leftovers.

Which makes me wonder, do you all keep your leftovers? How long do they end up staying in your fridge for? We're usually good about eating leftovers by the next afternoon if we can. But there are times it gets a little crowded in there. When that happens we always tried to at least have one night a week be leftovers night or something like that.

If you had to change your first name right now, what name would you choose for yourself?

That's a tough one! I don't even go by my first name! I'm not really sure why my parents didn't make "Lea" my first name! I guess if I had to change it right now I would just change it to Lea! That would make appts easier on me! Sometimes I don't answer since I hardly ever hear my first name. Kinda embarrassing!!! Oh well!

As for the left overs...we try to eat them. Usually doesn't work out that way though. I think Kyrson is better about eating them than we are. I try not to keep them in the fridge for more than a day or two, but sometimes they get pushed to the back. That can be gross at times!

How is everyone? It's pretty quiet around here!

All is well at my end. Just a busy weekend for us. My DD's dance recital is today, so I have a lot to do to get ready for tonight. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
