Hi, I have lurked around a bit before on this forum, but I notice it isn't a very busy board. Hopefully that will change.
Anyway, my name is Jen, I am 32 and I have five children with one more on the way. Yep, a single momma to six!!
I have four sons, Isaac 11, Aaron 9, Elijaah (almost) 7, and Naathaniel 4. I also have a daughter, Laliyaah (almost) 3, and my baby girl EDD 4/15/06, Nazaaria J'Nelle.
We live in Michigan, a few minutes west of Detroit. I work PT as a cashier (the only job I could work around my kids schedule), but I have several little things I do on the side to make extra money, such as selling my cakes and pies, and I do taxes from home.
I am trying to get the time to go back to school because I'd love to be a midwife.

So how has this pregnancy been? You feeling ok??

(by the way, kudos to you for working around the kids' schedules -- i did that when i was a single momma and it wasn't always easy financially, but the benefits sure were great!!)

Hi...this pregnancy has been okay. Girls give me headaches..LOL. With this pregnancy and my last (my dd) I got headaches almost daily. Never with any of my boys. I also have sciatica, but I've had that since baby #1, so I just deal with it. I am following a GD diet, because we (midwives and I) think I have it, but I opted out the test ($$ issues). So I am learning to "eat the right way"....on the plus side, it'll probably keep my weightgain down for the rest of the pregnancy. I'm 27 weeks and have gained 15 lbs so far. I'd LOVE to keep it around 25 total.

I am having issues with the weight gain because the same week I got my BFP I had reached a goal of 100lbs lost!!!! Ugghhh...now I'm going in the wrong direction!!

Anyway....I'm getting excited for my baby girl. This will be my second homebirth. My dd was born at home too. I LOVE the freedom and the peace of homebirths....I wish insurance would cover them though.

hey, good for you on reaching your weight loss goal! they say that you'll lose the lbs after a baby even quicker if you're at a healthy weight to start with

good luck to you in that quest, but don't worry too much about the weight gain in the meantime - your little booger needs it!!

keep in touch - - post often - - let us know when you need support, a vent, etc!!! and good luck with that pregnancy!!!
