I have been looking for a forum like this for a few weeks now!!! I feel like everything i read about online is about families with both parents, and in my case, that is not true. I am only 18 years old, and found out I was pregnant in late March, a month after my exboyfriend and I broke up. He already has a child, so he decided that 1 chile would be enough for him, and does not wish to be involved in our child together. I just found out that I am a cystic fibrosis carrier, and cannot get the ex to go get tested himself.
Besides that I guess I was just looking to find others in a similar position, I feel like I am so alone!

ps: I am starting my second year of college in the fall (online courses) wish me luck in managing these multiple tasks!!!

Good Luck to you. It is so hard being a single mom. It is also very rewarding.
I am on round 2 of single parenting, I have 3 children and I am expecting twins in Sept.
I know how scary it is to be young and alone when you are PG.

Oh my you certainly have alot on your plate. Welcome and post away. I have obviously had my baby, but you can also come on by the single parents part of the board. There are quite a few of us that are there for support, venting, questions, etc. Take care. Hopefully the father agrees to be screeened for CF.

Been there done that! I am also a single mom (had mine last Dec.) who is a carrier for CF and the father had 1 child already and became addicted to drugs. He also refused testing. I opted for Amnio becuz I carry the single worst form of CF giving a child a lifespan of 12-15 years. I cried like a baby the day I found out that Kierdan would be okay, and ranted more than once about his bio father's refusal to be tested. If you ever need to talk (becuase even with family around being prego and single is HARD) I'm always willing.
