Default Re: Summer Chatty Thread

A -- I'm not really thinking of giving up on naps, just trying to figure out what to do about his resistance to them. Today he took a 30 min nap in the morning and that was it despite several other attempts and the fact that he's feeling a bit sick. In general, if he doesn't nap (or naps for less than 40 min) he goes to sleep around 7:30-8:30, but, if he naps for 60+ min he won't go to sleep until at least 9:00.

For now I think I'm going to keep trying to carve out time for a nap and continue trying to encourage him to nap whenever he looks like he might fall asleep. He definitely does nap in the car and, like BBB's kids, he doesn't transfer. So, I do spend a lot of time sitting in the driveway. And, I spend a lot of time in his room trying to convince him to nap.

BBB -- Sorry, I thought it was you who said they gave up early. Someone I knew did.

Swell -- Good luck with both the funeral and P staying with your sister.

I'm sure that if O had severe allergies I would feel much the same fears, but, I find that his issues are much harder to get people to understand. People are always asking if there are any allergies that they should know about, but, don't seem to know what to do with the issues I describe. After all, keeping food out of O's reach is functionally harder than not having anything with egg in it.

But, a request to the rest of you on behalf of all parents whose kids have food issues: when kids are little, please organize food such that parents will be able to easily manage their own child's eating.
