Default My appt. on Friday...

Well I have been going EVERY Friday afternoon to my OB for cervical measurements by u/s, an internal and the regular appt-type stuff....pee, BP, etc. since my hospitalization at 24 weeks. Friday I went in expecting everything to be the same: long cervix, still only a fingertip dilated on the outside closed on the in and to be patted on the head and sent home until next week. Instead my OB took forever with the transvag u/s until I finally had to ask if everything was okay. He said that the baby's head is now putting pressure on my cervix and I have started to efface. He did the internal exam and instead of reaching half of his arm up in there I noticed he didn't have that far to reach and he confirmed that I have started to dilate. I'm like "hello how about some numbers here?" He said that women put too much emphasis on numbers. He may have a woman at 1 cm deliver within hours or have a woman walking around at 4 cm for weeks. Yeah whatever! Anyway so he says we will not be doing anymore u/s cervical measurements and after Thursday I can go off all restrictions. (haha Jamie that means I may actually be able to dtd if we can figure out how with this big belly!). I asked what all of this was to mean and he said after Thursday he is not going to stop me if I go into labor. I told him Murphey's law I'll be overdue and he said no way. He even had me sign all of the consents for surgery for my tubal afterwards and asked if I had taken the tour and had any questions. He also asked if I was having any other probs and I told him about the back pain that has been getting worse. He said that was due to the baby dropping into postion and she (OF COURSE) is posterior with the back of her skull digging into my sacrum. So now I'm left thinking, okay does the OB's behavior make me think I may deliver in June or maybe just a few days early? I'm not too happy without clear answers but I know that he doesn't know the exact second either. It' so frustrating!!! What do you all think? I'm worried especially because this back pain is getting worse and Kai is still in Seattle visiting friends until Father's Day.
