Bad Day

Yesterday was the pits... We just got back from vacation on Sunday, then Lilly had to fly out UM to her dad's yesterday. I'm such a mess on the day she leaves (and pretty much the whole time she's gone). I just couldn't seem to squeeze her enough before she left. She spent the AM with me at work then DH took her to the airport in the PM. Then when I picked up Zoe from daycare all she could talk about was "Her Lilly", and how she missed her already. This sucks!!!

Oh I can't imagine having to do that. How long will Lilly be gone?

I'm sorry - I can't imagine being apart from her like that! Hope she can come back soon and you can keep busy to make the time pass..

She'll be with her dad for the next 9 weeks...

Awww, I'm so sorry!!! I KNOW exactly what your going through. Saturday June 14th my 10 yr old will be going to Florida to spend 7 weeks there for his summer visit with his dad. It's tough, I KNOW, I cry alot while he's gone cause I miss him so bad and worry about him too. If you ever need to talk, PM me, I'll even give you my phone number if you ever need to TALK to someone. (((((BIG HUGS))))) I'm so sorry again that your having to deal with this!!

Thanks, everyone, for the support! I talked to Lilly on the phone last night, and she sounded so meek and small... like she was really sad. I kept the conversation light so as not to make her cry. UGH this sucks, I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

Hi Anne,

I just wanted to check in to see how you are feeling. Have you talked to Lilly again...is she feeling/sound a little better?

Does she have other siblings to play with while she's with her dad?

Lilly is ok, I've talked to her again last night briefly. She's going to daycamp at the YMCA while there, and has kids to play with. But no, her dad doesn't have any other children. Her step-mother has been very good to her, so at least I have that bit of comfort.
