Our wonderful community director, Heather Lynne, recently decided to step down so she could focus all of her time and energy on her growing family. We wish you the very, very best HL and hope you'll check in with us from time to time.

I (Mandy) am now the community director of JAB & Parenting. It is a position I am happy to hold. These boards were my saving grace during our struggle with infertility. I have made friendships that I treasure through this site and am happy to be a small part in helping others find the same. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions that you have.

You'll Need:
3 large apples (I used braeburn)
3/4 C chopped walnuts
1/2 C packed dark brown sugar
1/4 C granulated sugar
4 T butter
Caramel Fudge Topping

What to do: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Remove a small slice from the bottom of 2 apples so they'll sit up, next remove about 1 to 1.5 inches from the top and scoop out the inside. Peel, core, and finely chop the third apple. Add 1 cup of the finely chopped apple to a mixing bowl and combine with sugar, nuts, and butter. Mix well with hands under "crumbly". Scoop the mixture into the apples, place in a greased baking dish, and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes. Put a spoonful of caramel topping on a dessert plate, set one apple on top, immediately spoon more caramel on top of the apple and repeat with the second apple.
