Default About pregnancy and becoming pregnant

Ok i hope im not stepping on any toes here...i hope im helping.Im not a Doctor or Midwife or even a nurse, but i read up alot and know basics.

This may help a few people as i have found threads with people asking questions.

To become Pregnant
Usually Ovulation occurs right in the middle of a cycle meaning 2 weeks before your next period.Sperm lives in the females body anytime from 3 to 5 sometimes up to 7 days. The egg however lives for only 12 to 24 hours.so most woman doesnt find out they are pregnant till at least 3 weeks and 2 days after their last period, unless of course you ovulated early because some womans cycles vary and are differant each month. some pregnancy tests can pick up the HCG hormones 4 days before their period is due.Others from the day the period is due.

From intercourse to conception to finding out your pregnant
From intercourse it takes anywhere from hours or days for the sperm to reach the destinated area, providing there is an egg there, otherwise they will wait in the fullopian tubes for an egg to be released..this is why it is best to have intercourse a day or two before ovulation as the egg only lives for 12 to 24 hours. At this point once reaching the egg it then takes 5 to 6 days for the fertilised egg to travel down the fallopian tube and reach the uterus where it implants. It then takes a few days for HCG hormones to be released into your urine where a test will read positive and pregnancy symptoms will take place

Implantation Bleeding
Implantation bleeding is where the egg implants itself into the wall of the uterus. This may cause bleeding which is small dark spotting..if its heavy and light like a normal period then it isnt implantation bleeding.Sometimes aches in the lower stomach occurs which is another sign of implantation.

Pregnancy Tests
If pregnancy tests shows a line weather they are faint...thin....dark...fat..small at top thin at bottom etc ...it is Positive.Pregnancy tests are very accurate and Doctors swear by them. There are such things as a false Negative because there may not be enough HCG in the urine for the test to pick up,if you think you may be pregnant, give it a few more days for HCG to build up..but there is No such thing as a False Positive unless the test was read after 10 minutes which is not adviced..

Pregnancy symptoms
Symptoms do not usually occur untill you are at least 1 to 2 weeks pregnant from conception

Stomach cramps/pains
Tiredness
Sore nipples
Neausea
Sense of smell is differant
Excess wind
Metallic taste in your mouth
Heavy feeling in the stomach
Headaches
Faintness

let me contradict your post no such thing as a false, postive?
I have to dis agree with this statement, not to make a debate over it or any thing,
but I have had a test done within the 10 minute frame,it was postive, and I was not pregnant....

usually the lines that show up after 10 minutes or so are called evap lines. I think they tend to be grayish or blueish instead of the normal pink on most HPTs.

Some times you could have had a chemical pregnancy or a very very early miscarriage and that is why the HCG was registering on the HPT.

In the world of infertility and IVF one sees a great deal of false positives.
No one is wrong here, only not fully informed.

And it was confirmed that it wasn't a chemical pregnancy or miscarriage, btw.
