Ok, I am on the pill and am not trying to get pg. I had a sinus infection and they put me on an antibotic and I forgot that you are supposed to use a back up method of bc. *sigh* I FEEL pg. I have one sore bb, I am extreamly tired and have been clenching my teeth while sleeping (something I have done during both pgs.) I should get AF next week.

My question is should I continue to take my bc pill? If I am pg will it harm the baby if I continue to take it unless AF doesnt' show up?

I wouldnt stop just because you *might* be pg. It's VERY infrequent that pregnancy even occurs while taking antibiotics if you are on birth control. As long as you are consistant with your pill everyday and dont have to double up on a reg basis, you should be fine. Docs just toss that warning in because they *have to* just because it's a documented thing that's happened in the past.

IF it turned out you are pg, the short time you con't your pill wouldn't be of consequence to the fetus. You don't wanna mess up your cycle either in the case that you aren't pg ... you'd have to start all over again.

But the very best thing to do is call your doctor if you're really worried!

I was going to say, if you dont mind restarting on the pill if you aren't pg, go for it and stop ... just use condoms if you'd rather not get pg (in case you aren't now!)

Both of sisters had a sinus infection while on birth control and were given anitbiotics and both of them got preggie!!! So since AF is just a week away I would suggest not taking the BC pills b/c it could definitely harm the baby! So I would suggest refraining from unprotected sex and take no b/c pills and see what happens!! Keep us updated!!!

birth control pills won't harm the baby - if you think you are pregnant, take a test, or just skip the last week of your pills so AF will be induced and start your next pack of pills
