Hi everyone. I would post a hello thread but I'm kinda freaking out and need some advice now! LOL Thanks for reading my insane rambling thread.

I'm trying to get everyone's opinion on whether or not "false positive" pregnancy tests exist.

I'm a 33 y.o. mother of two. I've had 4 pregnancies in the past. Two of the four ended in miscarriage and I have two daughters ages 12 and 6. All four have been planned and never conceived while on birth control.

I'm currently on birth control. My doctor just changed to a new one on the 25th (confirmed NOT pregnant on 25th) b/c of breakthrough bleeding. He did some testing and said I needed more estrogen b/c I had thin lining in my uterus. I began the new bc-Seasonique on August 30th and the instructions said to use an alternate method for a week (which I did not). My dear so took it to mean try to knock me up this past week. I went along with it b/c it's always fun to play 'pretend' b/c we just aren't quite ready for a baby yet (imho). I had also just finished a round of antibiotics (Amoxcil) for strep throat.

So for grins and giggles I took a cheap-o Walgreens pregnancy test yesterday and it said POSITIVE! There were 2 clear, distinct lines right away. The result window was very faint, and if I am preggers I am VERY early as I saw my doc on the 25th and was definitely NOT pregnant. I took the other test with my first morning urine and it was negative. I ran to the pharmacy and bought a 3 pack of EPT and all 3 (1 digital) said NOT pregnant. However, I have NEVER seen a false positive pregnancy test in my life and I am SUPER early if I am pregnant as I would be anywhere from 2-5 days pregnant right now. HELP??? What do you think?? (I will definitely be going to my doctor but seeing as today is a holiday and I work a very stressful non-understanding job I may not can get to the dr. for a week or so)

I had just finished a period right before the 25th that had started on like the 19th or so until the 24th.

#1 - Do you think I could be pregnant?

#2 - How common are false positives?

#3 - Should I STOP taking the pill?

My 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I knew right away when I was pregnant and got faint lines on tests with them as well, but didn't take any other tests to compare. So this 1 out of 5 tests being positive is sort of freaking me out.

I will be totally 110% excited to be a mom again, even though my 3rd pregnancy (2nd child) was complete bedrest for the last trimester and I had some high risk issues. I am just sort of freaking out b/c we aren't quite ready for this AND my very best friend of 23 years is getting married June 12, 2010 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and myself and 2 children are supposed to be in the wedding and if I am pregnant I will be due to give birth at that exact timeframe....ugh!

But reading this makes me laugh at myself b/c there are so many other people in this world with worse troubles than me!

Thank you for reading and responding to this poor, freaked out, possibly impregnated mother of two beautiful girls and hoping this one's the boy she always wanted if she really is pregnant again! LOL
