Icon5 False Positives?

I am pretty confused. Friday morning I took a digital home pregnancy test and it came back positive. My husband and I were not TTC but we were not not TTC since January either, so it was a bit of a surprise but by then end of the day we were both really excited (I have made a Dr. appt for Monday) but just being neurotic we decided to go to the drug store and buy more tests for another reassurance, but we just bought a one line/two line early response pregnancy test and did it this Saturday and it showed negative, no light line, no nothing. So now I have spent most of the day trying to find information on false positives. Have now done the second test in the second pack this afternoon and it came back neg too?

IF the first one was correct then I would be 3 1/2 weeks pregnant (8 days after conception), which I know is early to get any result. This is all more difficult because I have very irregular periods and would have gotten pregnant during my period. Can anyone help with information? I am hoping the first one is right. Are digital tests more accurate or just easier to read?

Thanks in advance
Lisa

Default Re: False Positives?

Hi Lisa

If you are only 8 days after conception then it is still far to early to say for sure. False positives are rare, but not nonexicstent. My experience with the first responce tests are not good, they dont seem to show as early for me as the clear blue tests even though they claim to. I would wait a few days and I knowthis must be agony for you but there is not much yopu can do.

another point to remember with testing early is that sometimes and eggie can get fetilised but not implant and then inthat case you may get some false hormone levels.

either way I am sorry you are going through this ..please post again and let me know how everything goes.

I went to my doctor last night and her test came back neg too, she says retest in a week so that is what I will do. My other thought is that I was pretty dehydrated when I took the first test and since then not so much... but even if it turns out truely negative, then it has shown my husband and I just how much we are keen to start actually trying. We were both so excited.
