Default Pregnant with #2 and having a hard time

I just found out Friday we are expecting number 2. Lucas will be 14 months when this baby is born. We where TTC and i was very happy when we found out. But all day today i have when feeling like this was wrong and maybe a mistake. I don't want to feel like that but i do. I just worry Lucas will be the one that suffers because we may not be able to give him the attention he needs. Is it normal to feel this way?

The way you are feeling is completely normal. I felt the same way after finding out about #2 and #3 which both were planned. Everything will work out, I promise. You will be giving Lucas a friend to grow up with which is such a great gift. There is nothing better than being able to watch your two children play and grow together. I loved it so much that we had decided to have our third close in age as well. Of course after I got my bfp with #3 I felt like I had made the wrong choice. It took a little while to get over that but it did happen. Now that my son is here, I couldn’t be happier.

Btw, when you have your baby you will learn that you will be able to divide your attention between them both. By then Lucas will be old enough to sit next to you while you are feeding the new baby, “help” you change the baby and play with the baby. That way he won’t feel that all of your attention is just on the baby.

I agree what you are feeling is completely normal. I remember when i only had Kian. He was my world and the center of all my attention and I wasn't sure how he was going to be when his sister arrived 16 months later. But now we have three kids , 3.5, 2, and 11 months and now expecting my fourth! Lucas will adjust and it will amaze you. They are incredible little beings!
