Default Parity!!

Hello Ladies!

I have a question to ask, but first a story to tell.

When I visited the US with my parents and 3 sisters in 2002, the Australian dollar (AUD) was crap. We were getting 33 US cents for 1 AUD. So, when the 6 of us went anywhere, ate any food etc it cost us 3 times as much. A chocolate bar that would cost you $2 cost us $6 (and no, we don't get paid 3 times as much!)

When I returned a few years later, the exchange rate was "great" - we got 50c to $1 Australian. So everything was only twice the price!

WELL, this week the Australian dollar hit PARITY. As in on par. As in equal. As in $1 USD = $1 AUD!!!!!!!!

Never thought I'd see the day - so exciting! So, after going nuts on amazon.com I realised now might be a great opportunity to get some cool kid's stuff for Niamh. I was trying to think of all the US brands that we don't get in Australia (LOL forget about PNG! There are NO RETAIL CLOTHING STORES IN THE COUNTRY.... let that sink in for a minute! Second hand or nothing).

All I could come up with is Baby Gap, and I see now they've just introduced shipping to Australia... nice!

What other brands or stores do you buy? Clothes, toys, whatever.... let me know your ideas! I'll get it all shipped to my parents in Australia, won't even bother trying to get it to PNG!

Thanks!!!
