Default Misdiagnosed Miscarriages(was one of them)

I just want to let people to know because a gestation sac may be 2 wks behind and even the hcg level may start to peak at 8 wks but all turns out to be normal after 10 wks.

Many doctors follow the lmp stage like through a pregnancy wheel of estimate of o'ing on a 14 day to be having usual cycles to 26-28 .

Implantaion of the fetus can take up to 7-14 days to implant so in reality u/s may be behind in u/s wise and it will turn out just fine.

I knew sometime when I concieved my son Brendan because I dtd on the Nov. 11 with that time range and I know brendan wasn't implanted on the day I expected my af because I got a BFN.

So I was thinking I was pregnant and then took a test 2 days later still BFN . So I was for sure I wasn't pregnant but my af was now a week late so I finally got a bfp on the day before thanksgiving 2003.

Well, I had usual beta draws rising normal but when I was 8 wks pregnant I was spotting brown blood the ER gave me the beta levels said normal so then 3 days later I got the other beta levels that was done a week ago which were "HIGHER" than the ones at the doctor office.

So I mentioned that to the doctor and she said it sounds like a Threatened Miscarriage and more likely you will end up miscarrying .

She said come in and we will see if the levels go down if not then we will do some way to get them to come down ( thank goodness I didn't listen to her otherwise brendan wouldn't be here today)

I got busy with my guinea pigs that I rescued from shelters and still went to my u/s that was scheduled for 10 wks 5 days -they did a vaginal one instead of a abdominal one .

I was so afraid to hear the news that I thought I was going to her like i did about almost 10 months before but instead I heard great news saying there is a heart beat and he's moving. I went running around the office and even went up to the nurse and said My baby is alive . I'm not miscarrying.

He was really really tiny like a size of a thumbprint. The ob said he was worried and said he measured 2 wks behind and instead of him measuring at 10 wks 5 days he was more closer to 8 wks.

So if I had a u/s when my beta was dropping they proably wouldn't have seen anything because in reality he would have only measured 6 wks .

Brendan is going to be 5 yrs old soon and even when I was pregnant with him u/s did measure pretty behind with him.

Even the day before Brendan induction his u/s measured him gestation age at 32 wks 3 days when he was really 40 wks.

He turned out being 19 inches and 6 lb 4 oz.
