Default Charting during pregnancy??

Hi ladies,
I just got my BFP 3 days ago. I have still been charting and I wanted to know how long I should continue to chart. My temp dropped a little today. It is still waaay above coverline but I am a little worried about the drop. I have some progesterone issues and I'm on prog supplements from my doctor. Sooo -- I am concerned about my p4 levels dropping, and I am worried about the obvious.

I just want to know if charting my BBT is actually telling me anything useful at this point.

I took another HPT yesterday and the line was waay darker than it was 2 days ago so that made me happy but I just need some advice on when to put down that thermometer. It has been such a joy seeing my temps stay up for the last few days and I was planning on charting until 18dpo which is tomorrow anyway. HELP!!!

Hey Meg..
Put down that thermometer, Momma! I did the same with DD #2 and I almost drove myself batty. Your temp can fluctuate wildly when you are actually pregnant (finally! WOOT!) and all it will do is make you worry too much. And we don't want too much worry when little one is trying to stick.

Just throw it away. Take it with you to the store and throw it in a trash can where you cannot fish it out in the morning! That is what I did, on the advice of my co-workers (maternity nurses, lol!) and I felt much better.

DD proved to me that she was sticking by making me puke 24 hours a day. I've never been so happy to be sick to my stomach

Best wishes for a fabulous pregnancy!

I agree with the above response. Good luck.

I was charting for fifteen cycles before my little miracle finally made his/her appearance, so I know how hard that habit can be to break! I still have a Helen Reddy clip on my computer that sings "You and me against the world" at the time I used to temp.

:

It wasn't necessary to throw away my thermometer, though; eventually I just got too tired and started sleeping through the alarm. I gave my thermometer to a friend who was TTA, along with all of my charting materials, and she hasn't fallen pregnant yet in spite of being constantly exposed to my pheremones, so that worked out much better than throwing it in the trash can.

I did keep testing until the test line came out darker than the control line, but eventually all of that just fell by the wayside as I moved on to the next stage of my parenting journey.
