I wish to share with you NEWS that SPARK, a research-based physical education/activity program has partnered with The Family Coach to provide SPARK FAMILY ACTIVITY KITs.
This is an important step toward family obesity prevention in the US. Our goal is to get families "moving and playing together." SPARK trains thousands of Head Start sites and school districts across the country. My colleagues at SPARK are kind, generous and dedicated to kids. Here is the

Whatever the motivator to shed fat/lose weight, statistics show there is surely a need for Americans to take a long look in the mirror. A recent USA Today front page article titled, “Obesity is a key link to soaring health tab” said that about 40% of adults — more than 72 million — were obese in 2006; up from 23% in 1994. 2/3 of everyone in the US is considered overweight or obese.
1 of every 3 children is now considered overweight. This doesn't have to be the case in your family.
So what can we families do to get in shape?
First, buy one of The SPARK FAMILY ACTIVITY KITs and start moving! There is no one your children want to play with more than you.
Second, buy Tosca Reno's book Eat Clean Diet for Family and Kids. Obesity prevention involves eating less and moving more, it's actually simple.
Here's a quick Family Tip - Take 10: After dinner or anytime, get out a ball, some cones or some bean bags and play with your children. The SPARK FAMILY ACTIVITY KIT can help you light a “SPARK” in your family to get up and have fun!
