Default Hot dogs are a no-no, so what's for dinner?

If you haven't heard the news today, hot dogs have been deemed a serious choking hazard for kids and pediatricians are calling for a hot dog makeover. This is a major bummer for our family because turkey dogs are a major source of protein for my daughter. How do you moms go about introducing new foods to picky eaters, and actually making them eat things besides their fave foods? I'd love the advice!
