Q: With all the talk about throwing out old makeup, what do you currently have in your makeup collection?

A: For day time, I like to keep it simple! With a few good quality products, I am able to multi-task while creating a flawless complexion.

Cleansing and toning aside, I keep a separate bag for daytime makeup.

Starting with the ubiquitous multi-tasker - Argan oil, I use this as my daytime moisturiser, hair smoother and cuticle softener. After a few minutes, once the oil has absorbed, I pat on some Clarins Beauty Flash balm. This gives a soft glow to the complexion, but it is important to apply your foundation immediately after this product. Next, I apply a few drops of Dior Natural Glow Hydrating makeup in Nude. This foundation goes on like a dream and lasts all day long.

To highlight the tops of the cheekbones, I then apply a few drops of Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser. This product is wonderful for catching the light and bringing the complexion aglow. Finally, a few sweeps of Mineral Veil by Bare Escentuals helps to set my makeup, giving it that final, sophisticated touch.

Now that I have my perfect base, it's time to color in!

If I am in a rush to get out the door and there's no time or desire to apply eye shadow, then Mineral Veil once again doubles up as a base for the eyelid, helping to absorb any excess oil. Next, I sweep on Mac's Penultimate Eyeliner in rapidblack. Designed to be used like a felt tip pen, with a little practice, you will be able to create a multitude of looks with this product. Finishing off with a few sweeps of Diorshow Mascara in Black 090, I am just about ready to get out the door!

For me, no makeup application is complete without my signature red lips! Favorite shade of the moment is MAC Satin Red.
