We finally had good luck in getting his surgery Tuesday. He has been home recovering this week. I am pretty much keeping him doped up on his codine. This pediatric urologist who has been doing this 30 yrs and is voted the best, said his penis was twisted around to the right, as well as bent down. He said it is actually common to see it twisted to the left but he had never seen to the right. Fortunately though, his hole was in the right position so he didnt have to go in and re-build his uretha track or whatever it is called. So they circ'd him too while straighting and untwisting. They also seperated the small webbed connected part of the underside of the penis that was attached to the scrotum. We had no idea about the first part above, all we thought was just a small seperation of skin and the circumcision. They gave him an epidural type anesthesia, waist down and breathing tube, etc.. Fortunately after the 2 hour surgery, we were called back and was awake and kicking in recovery. Not what I expected, I was pleasently surprised.

The downside is all this film glue type stuff all around his penis and scrotum. It is all red and blood, kind of frightful but once it falls off next week I will have a better idea of what is going on. The good thing, as a growing man, adult, etc.. he will be totally normal, not even know about...unless I tell.

So now besides not being able to carry him on my hip for 5 more days and we can't buckle both metal latches on the carseat between his legs due to tender wound area, we are getting over it.

But on a horrible note that made me pour the BIG beer I am drinking now..lol...the Tylenol w/ Codiene they have him on every 4 hrs of course causes big time constipation. Well, he has not gone since Monday. Today would be day 5 so I called doc and they said to feed prunes and give him pear juice. So he had that all day. Well, OMG....just one hour ago he had a blow out, all in his clothes, out his diaper, on the swing seat, dirty black blowout AND IT WAS COVERING HIS PENIS, all under the tape they put on it, up his back, etc.. I freaked and dunked him in a tub and carefully for 30min dosed him in water to get the poop out of his penis that is newly opened and taped up!


UGH! So...I shall now go and drink my beer. Cheers!
