Icon4 First time pregnancy, couple of questions

Hey i just found out i was pregnant i'm about 4-5 weeks, i don't have my first full pre-natal appt till 7/27/05 and i have a couple of quesitons.
1. Is it normal to not have alot of symtoms? I only have some belly aches time to time, backaches, sore boobs and definitly increased hunger. But i don't habve morning sickness and i'm not extremely tired...only a little bit.
2. when should we start telling people?? i always heard its better to wait till after ur 3 monthes?? is there a specfic reason for that?
3. is it normal to worrying about miscarrying now?? i'm so scared i will...i dont know why i just don't want to lose this baby..
Well hope u guys can help me!!

on your pregnancy. To answer your questions, yes it's normal NOT to have any sxs at all. Most people don't have a lot of sxs until around 9 weeks or more.

Some people tell others right away and some choose to wait. The reason for the wait is different for everyone but mostly people want to get past the first trimester, around 12-14 weeks. I waited until after my first OB appt to tell people I was pg with my first. I was around 9-10 weeks. With my ds, we waited to tell everyone around 13 weeks, after we saw the little bean on an u/s. We had suffered a m/c a few months before so we were quite nervous.

To answer your last question. Yes it's normal to worry about a m/c. With my first I remember sitting in bed crying because I didn't feel pg and was worried I was going to lose our baby. I prayed for more sxs. My prayers were answered a few weeks later and I didn't stop throwing up until I had my dd. YUCK!

Hang in there.

CONGRATULATIONS on your pg! Kara basically said it perfectly. I had almost no symptoms with either of my pg and delivered two healthy girly-girls.

We waited until after we heard (and saw) the babies' heartbeats (at about 10 weeks) to tell everyone except for immediate family who we had told already. When to tell people is a completely personal decision and there is no right or wrong answer. So do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

It is 100% normal to stress about m/c during your first trimester. Just remember, Once you hear the baby's heartbeat your chances of m/c drop dramatically. One of my docs told me that your chances of m/c start dropping after the third week since many m/c are caused by improper implantation. You've already passed that milestone so congrats!

Ditto what they said! I have more "pregnancy symptoms" now that I ever did when I was actually pg (my DH had a vasectomy, so I can't be pregnant). Hang in there! We told EVERYONE we were pg with our first, then lost the baby. With our DS, we only told close family right away. With DD we waited until about 11 weeks to tell. It's a personal thing, so whatever feels right is right!

Good luck!
