Default Book Review: Multiple Blessings by Jon and Kate Gosselin

As an avid viewer of the popular TLC show 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' I was excited to pick up the book Multiple Blessings.

Those of us that catch their reality show probably think the Gosselin's have gotten as personal as they can get with America (Kate bared her post-sextuplet belly on camera, after all!), but this book holds more of their heartfelt story than has ever aired on television. Subtitled 'Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets', the book follows the Gosselin's story from the day Kate met Jon at a company picnic, through their struggle for all six babies to survive, to managing daily life with eight children. Jon and Kate delve into personal struggles and triumphs that anyone can relate to. And for those of you who enjoy a good picture book, rest assured there are plenty of family pics scattered throughout!

Multiple Blessings was the best book I've read in a long time. It is inspiring, it made me laugh out loud many times, and it contains the raw emotion that can only come from a parent. You'll definitely laugh, you might cry, and you'll certainly exclaim, "So that's how they did (insert menial task here) with 6 babies!"

I managed to read the entire book in two days, which is not easy considering I have a toddler and an infant at home. I do admit, however, to allowing my son's favorite DVD to 'babysit' while I finished the last few chapters.

Bottom line: This is an inspiring, real-life story that will entertain anyone, young or old, with children or without. I will be lending this book to friends and praying they return it promptly so I can begin reading it again!
