Oooooo, hopefully it was a 5/25 baby. That's the day I'd crossed my fingers for all along. It's the day I wanted Zach to be born. If he had held out just 5 days longer he'd have been born on the 5 year anniversary of Matt & I's first date. If her baby was born then, s/he was born on our "10th" anniversary!
Sorry, I've been MIA so much. With exception of responding to threads with my name on it and Grey's, I've been too busy to even lurk (which I'm usually pretty good at!

) Quick update (some may be repetitious, I can't even remember what I've said and what I haven't):
My mom was in rehab til the 13th. Then she came home to my house. She was able to go to Zach's bday party on the 18th and be here to spend his bday with him. It was a nice treat for her since she was newly in the hospital for Gabe's. My front door was constantly swinging between the nurses, wound care specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case workers, etc that had to come see her daily. Hence, no time for the computer really (my only time to clean was after the kids were in bed at night, and I had to take some nights off for important season finales!

)
My mom started to feel like she was wearing out her welcome and it was something she didn't want to do just in case she does need surgery and needs to come back here for awhile afterwards. She was more than welcome to stay, but Zach was turning into a terror in "show off for Gramma" mode. It was obvious he was trying to push my buttons when he could run and hide behind her and she didn't want to interfere in my home life anymore. So she decided to return home on Sunday. It's probably for the best cause I know she wanted her independance as well. And knowing she might need to come back later in the summer, it's probably best that Matt's MIL not be around too much for too long, kwim?
Although I do give him props. He was fantastic about having her here. I love him even more now!
Today I take her to her first actual FOOT SPECIALIST appt. The doctor at the rehab said in his opinion the bones in her foot miraculously appeared to be all lined up. But the dr today will be the one that determines if her foot will need surgery for any reason - either to line things up properly or just to add some rods for added support since her bones are older & more fragile. All of our prayers have been focused on her not needing surgery, so we're crossing our fingers really hard this morning.
I can't guarantee any more comp time in the immediate future. Now that she decided to return home, I have to deal with a 15 minute commute between our houses a couple times a day to check on her, get things for her, do laundry, help clean & do her grocery shopping for her. It's almost MORE trouble having her home, but I know it gives her peace of mind, so I'm not arguing.
As for the kiddos, well Zach is now 5! He's officially a big kid. His last day of preschool was Friday and he also had his big open house at the kindergarten back on the 12th. He never misses an opportunity to tell me how big or how old he is, but he is still as sweet as ever.
Gabe is still the same sweetheart combined with an ornery monkey. Yes, somehow, someway it's possible to be sweet & ornery while climbing the walls. He boggles my mind with his spirity & energy.
Mikayla just turned 16 months old and is going on 16 with her sassiness, drama & vocabulary. It amazes me how different girls can be.........even girls with two big brothers who are trying their darndest to turn her into a tomboy. She already talks in complete sentences. All day long it's "What is that?" and "I need a drink". This morning she was flipping through a book saying "Penguin, night, night!" I don't think either of the boys even attempted to say "penguin" til 2 1/2. Yes, Lisa, if you could see your bday buddy you'd feel really old. She just simply isn't a baby anymore.
Well I better run. Have to get 4 of us ready to take my mom to the doctor. Wish me luck. I haven't had to get her out of the house and into the car 100% by myself yet. There has always been physical therapists or DH there to do the bulk of the work. We're going to start about an hour before the appt just to make sure we have PLENTY of time. She is still really scared to do anything other than sit in the wheelchair so it's pretty slow going.
