Default First steps! Yay!!!

She did it! Alyssa took her first steps all by herself today! No hanging on to anything! Okay, she only took 3 1/2 of them before she landed on her bum, but it still counts!

She still doesn't crawl well, or even roll over, unless absolutely necessary. But she really likes standing, and now taking those baby steps. We went to my parents' house today, and she was showing her grandma how well she can stand. Then I called Alyssa's name, and she took a few steps to come to me! I squealed and scared her, and she plopped on her bum.

My parents caught it on their video camera, but I have to figure out how to download it from theirs. I don't have the right cables with me... grr.

She's been doing it all day, just two or three steps at a time, and then she gets tired, but she's getting steadier.

I'm sooo proud!!!!

Hooray! What a big girl!!!!

Jack was an early walker, too. 9 months old exactly. By 10 months he was running, so put everything up NOW!

This is awesome!! I want to see video too.

Does she kneel or sit on her legs? How did she get up if not on her tummy? We're struggling with teaching Seema how to get up.

Sarah, she sits, rocks forward onto her tippy-toes and fingertips, and then stands up. It's funny to watch. I'm not sure that's the usual way to get up, but she really doesn't like being on her tummy. If she does end up face-down, she immediately pushes herself to a sitting position. I think that's why she isn't crazy about crawling. She prefers to be upright. Must be because she was breech for so long!

I can't post the first video. The software that came with my parents' camera isn't compatible with my Mac. The next time my parents come over, I'll get a video of her with my camera. I'm still too nervous to video her myself. She isn't steady enough for me to be too far away, and I'll either drop the camera or she'll fall, and I don't want her to to get too scared about trying to walk. She'll have more than enough falls in the future, I'm sure, but she's still my little lovebug, and I wanna break those falls while I still can.

Well...now the real crazy begins.

I can't believe they got that on video! LOL You could try using a tripod. I tried that with Joey for the same reasons....and OMG, yes get ready for those bumps and bruises. That was a very hard adjustment for me.
