So, we get Oprah here, but we're behind......I'm not sure how much, but I can't imagine we get it when you do.
Anyway, I recently saw an episode with Jerry Seinfeld's wife where she talked about her new cookbook and how she hides or incorporates vegetables into her kids' foods. She PUREES steamed veggies and hides them into similar colored food! For example, she adds pureed cauliflower to mashed potatoes, brocoli to her chicken nuggets batter, carrots to spaghetti sauce, spinach to chocoalte brownies!!! etc. etc. etc.
So today, I pureed some leftover cauliflower from last night's dinner, and when I made MACARONI AND CHEESE (from the box) for my boys, I added the cauliflower puree to the cheese sauce and THEY LOVED IT!!! They were so funny, even singing "Mac-n-cheese, mac-n-cheese pleeeeese!" while they ate!!

I was laughing so hard knowing I had fooled them into having a bit of nutrition!!!
On the show was also Dr. Oz, Oprah's health guru.........he talked about how kids today don't get enough FIBER for breakfast. i'm going to pick up some FLAX SEED MEAL (like flour) this week, and will start sprinkling it on their cereal in the mornings! It is high in fiber and also has OMEGA-3s.
Anyone else have any good tips for sneaking health into their picky kids' bodies?
OH< and ps. baby food jars aren't easily found here, so I know once this baby is ready for solids I'll be doing the puree thing for her as well! ONly hers won't be hidden! haha
