Just quickly, I posted a big thread with my birth story, but then lost it all as i am using the hospital modem (and it is hopeless).
Saraya Grace Thompson was born February 26th at 9.21am (singapore time, 13 hours ahead of NY) weighing in at 2760gms (6lb1oz) and measuring 46cms (around 18.9inches). SHe is perfect in every way and looks just like James (with a little Charlyse).
To cut a long story short, she is still in NICU due to fluid on the lungs (supposedly even more common with breech c-section babies) but they finally took her off the oxygen this afternoon (THursday at 1pm). She is still on antibiotics for a low-grade infection and actually stopped breathing this afternoon (due to choking on regurgitated milk), but she is doing really well and should hopefully be out of NICU tomorrow night (Friday night). My kids are dying to hold her and stand at the NICU window singing songs to her. They are totally besotted with her and keep asking when they can touch her.
I am doing fine now, though the first 36 hours after the operation were agony! Oh my god, I never want to go through that again. Give me natural childbirth ANY DAY!! HOwever, have been walking since 36 hours after the op and now feeling semi-semi-normal. Even went downstairs to the ground floor with the kids and DH for a coffee this afternoon (decaf, of course).
Will update more when home on my own pc. In the meantime, some pics to bore you. We haven't been able to take anymore since the hour after she was born, but hopefully will get some on the weekend.
My final tummy shot, just before going into surgery
Saraya being weighed
First bath with proud and excited Daddy (whilst I was being sewn up)
Finally cleaned up
Finally getting to hold my little girl (albeit briefly)
