Hi all - just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Emily, im 25 yo..just married last November (on a cruise ship!). My husband and I are expecting our first baby March 4th. I will be 7 weeks along this Saturday!
We have had two miscarriages in the past so we're a little scared. We had our first ultrasound this past Monday and we actually heard the little heartbeat..something that the technician could never find before. It was such a gift!
My mom is battling oral cancer, she has been for the past 3 years. Shes currently in Houston Tx being treated at MD Anderson. Her cancer has gotten pretty bad this time as its her 4th recurrence. They cant do surgery or radiation as shes already done that twice. She was going to start drug therapy in combination with chemo but the day she was going to start she started bleeding from her mouth so that disqualified her from being able to do the drug therapy. So as of now shes only on chemo. Im quite devastated as I cant believe Ive gotten pregnant and everything with baby is going along smoothly but its happening when I dont have my own Mom! Its hard for me to be completely excited about it without her.
