Liam Walter has arrived!
Many of you know that I was induced on Monday morning. Well, after nearly 6 hours on pitocin labor still wasn't starting and I still wasn't dilating at all. They they ruptured my water at 5pm in hopes that it'd get things moving. It did. I had a spinal block put in that didn't do much good, I was numb everywhere but my gut. Then they called for the spinal to be taken out and an epidural put in. I had issues getting numb from this too and had to call the anesthesiologist back every hour for a booster. I was complete and ready to start pushing at 2:30 am on 3.11.08. I pushed for 2 1/2 almost 3 hours. My doctor came in and realized that baby Liam was not only 'sunny side up' but also stuck. I went into surgery somewhere in the 5o'clock am hour and Liam was born at 5:42 am on Tuesday 3.11.08. 8lbs Even and 20.5 inches long.
I lost a ton of blood and actually ripped an additional spot on my uterus. They had to pull for a long time to get baby out he was very wedged in there. I'm severely anemic right now, they will be bringing blood in shortly for a transfusion. I've been on oxygen ever since because I cannot keep my oxygen saturation levels up. They have me doing lung exercises because I'm now at high risk for getting pneumonia. They tried to get me to stand this morning but my lips turned white so I'm still not allowed out of bed. I hope the blood works!
Even though it was such an ordeal it's worth it to have him hear safe! Since I'm still in the hospital I'll post pictures this weekend.
