Kinda OT: Supportive Parent(s)
How many of you have supportive parent(s)? It warms my heart to read positive stories of people's parents who are supportive. There's one lady on another board, and her dad made them a roast dinner, and her mom is buying her the double stroller she wants. How cool is that?!
My dad passed away when I was 23, and my mom has said, "You're not getting sh*t from me!" and lives 350 miles away. She also said she's NOT coming for the birth. I don't know what her trip is. When Samantha was being born (her very first grandchild), she said, "Can I take a raincheck?"
When I read positive stories of supportive parents, it reinforces me that there ARE great parents out there that truly do care. It really makes me miss my MIL who passed away 10/2008, and makes me wish what could have been, or should be, but overall, warms my heart.
My sister thinks I'm nuts. She thinks I should be jealous, annoyed, and irritated that others have supportive parents, and we don't. Ummm, no! It makes me happy that they're happy and getting the help they need, and shows that there ARE good parents in this world that truly do care.
