Re: Creative Ways of Telling...
Not sure how we will tell family this time. With my son I just told everyone. With my last pregnancy(m/c), I took a digital test, and took a pic of it. I was talking to my mom on instant messenger(she lives 4 hours away so I don't see her often), and I sent her the pic. She was thrilled! Dh told his parents because he couldn't wait to do something special to let them know. This time, I think we'll wait a while since I had a m/c last month. However, I am going to Myrtle Beach with my family on July 13th, so if I've got m/s by that time, I may just have to tell them then! lol

Re: Creative Ways of Telling...
The night we conceived, we had attended a party and swing danced to the song "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy." So, when I discovered that I was pregnant, I first handed my husband a plastic toy horse and asked him to contemplate it for a few hours.
Then, I wrote on one side of an index card: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy...." and on the back of the card I wrote "Make a Baby! (due date 2/28/09)" I propped the card up with the horse on the countertop and waited for him to read it. My husband was floored.
With our first son, after dinner, I asked my husband to retrieve dessert from the oven for me. He found a cookie sheet with a hamburger bun on it and a card that said "I love you dad! From, your little bun in the oven!"

Re: Creative Ways of Telling...
I took a picture of my then 18 month old, and then 'photoshopped' the words "I'm going to be a Big Brother in Aug. '03" I framed the picture and had my little guy (who is now 7) give it to my mom. She unwrapped it, read it and said, "what?" it took a second to sink in before she got it and started screaming!

Re: Creative Ways of Telling...
With DS I got a balloon that said "It's a boy" then with a marker I wrote "Or or a girl" had it delievered to his desk with a card that congratulated him on his new journey. I didn't sign it but I could watch from around the corner when it was delivered to him. He looked at the balloon, then back to the card, then back to the balloon and back to the card then asked the girl who delivered it if anything else came with it? She said no, then I came out from around the corner.....it took a couple of minutes to put all together.

Re: Creative Ways of Telling...
How about having a shirt made that reads "Meet my wombmate" and have an arrow pointing down at your bump?

Re: Creative Ways of Telling...
When I was PG with DD, I told DH not to be mad, but I bought a pair of shoes today. We were on a budget, and he wasn't thrilled, so I said, ok fine, when you come home, you can see them and if you don't like them I'll take them back. When he got home he opened the shoe box, and there were a pair of baby shoes in there with the positive test. He was so shocked and thrilled! It was a great way to tell him.
This time, I did surprise him too, but it's more of an inside joke that wouldn't really be applicable to anyone else.
Last PG, we invited both sets of families over for breakfast and DH did a toast and asked if there was anything I wanted to add... and I said "I'm pregnant" and everyone went crazy.
This time we bought DD a "big sister" t-shirt for her to surprise them with. It looks like we'll be doing that next weekend...
