Sorry it has taken me so long to post !! I have taken every moment that I have down time to sleep

So you know I went to the OB on Monday and was bummed that I was still a 3 and they were talking induction I got myself all worked up that day so we went out to eat at taco bell and then I came home and took a hot bath and felt pretty good. I went to bed at 9:30 in the chair due to heartburn and then went to bed at 11:30 and felt great... not one contraction. I got up at 12:30 and 1:30 to pee and felt totally fine.

At 2:30 I got the worst contraction of my life and it made me sit straight up in bed. It was unlike any other contraction I have experienced but it was the middle of the night so I laid back down. It wasn't a minute later I was having another really really hard one. They were so close together that I was sure it was some bad gas.....

I got up and tried to get on the computer or watch TV but I couldn't even walk without getting a contraction every minute and half. AND THEY WERE HARD!! I kept thinking there was no way I was in labor b/c they came too fast and too hard. Where was my slow build up? I hobbled into the shower thinking the hot water may slow things down. I ended up just moaning through the on top of one another contractions and somehow managed to get out of the shower and wake DH. I think it took us a couple of minutes to throw some clothes on and for the neighbors to come over to watch DS. By this time I wasn't getting any break between many of the contractions at all. I was sure I was going to have the baby in the car and the pain was nothing like I had with DS.

We got out to the car and DH was speeding like I have never seen before..... I kept squeezing anything that I could get my hands on and trying to climb out of the window I just kept saying " I want an epidural " Now this is coming from me who wanted the natural approach and didn't get one with DS until I was almost a 9 ......

We get to the hospital and DH is running across the parking lot with a wheelchair and I am moaning like I am on fire. Actually I giggle thinking about it now He is running through the hospital with me while I am he he whoooo 'ing and people are looking scared now ha ha ha As we get in the elevator he looks like he is going to pass out as he says " I don't have to deliver the baby " He really thought we were having the baby in the car and lets remember that he is a paramedic I guess its different when its your wife.

We get up to the window and I look the lady straight in the eye and say “I want an epidural" as I go into a contraction that knocked me on my knees. They kind of panicked and came running around and picked me up. It was the same nurse that I had last week and she knows that I have a pretty high pain tolerance so she was a little panicked. They got me on the bed ( I can't remember how I got my clothes off or the gown on- I think they did it ) She checked me and I was a six. I guess she got the contraction belt on me and saw that I was getting hot and heavy contractions every minute with no break in between every three. In runs three nurses and they try to tell me to hold still (yeah right) while they try to get an IV in me. My nurse yells out to the on duty nurse “Get a room right now and get the anesteoligist ready " They end up blowing three veins before they get one that works and they start pumping fluid in so I could get an epi.

Everything else happened pretty fast. They unhook me from everything and start running down the hall with me in my bed writhing around At one point I told the nurse to cut my head off ha ha ha The drug doctor was actually waiting for me in my room.... It took three tries and twenty minutes to get it in b/c it kept hurting my leg.... I actually grabbed the nurse’s shirt and thought I was going to rip it off during a contraction.... Thank God for great nurse’s b/c she didn't even blink. Finally they got the epi in and in rolled my best friend, mom and dad. It started to work and I started to thank God for the power of drugs... I have never ever in my life wanted to jump out of my body due to that kind of pain.....


Things happened so fast after that. As soon as my epi was in they checked me and I was an 8! They started wheeling in carts and scales and said this would be the fastest birth ever. They called my OB and someone came in and broke my water. After that I started feeling lots of pressure. My OB came in ten minutes later and checked me and it turns out I was complete and ready to push. Everyone just kept looking at each other like they couldn't believe that I was going so fast.... It was four hours from the start of the first contraction to finish.....

I pushed three times. Mia crowned on the first push (I thought they were lying to me to motivate me to push ) Her head came out ob the second push and the rest of her came out on the third. They put my girl on my chest and it was the most amazing moment in my life. (My DS wasn’t breathing so I didn’t see him for a day after he was born) I am completely in love with my Mia. I only tore a little and I am not sore at all. It was an amazing birth….. She is a breastfeeding champ and hasn’t stopped sucking since she was born  My milk is in and she is eating about every three hours……
