Today was Griffins Cardio appt. He is 14 weeks today and weighs 13lbs 12oz and is 25" long. He is in the 20th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for length. Tall skinny boy (he apparently gets that from my father lol)
Anyway- the Cardio said his hear murmor was normal. Normally they dont see this in an infant- usually it isnt noticed until toddler age- but it is just the shape of his heart that is making the noise and he will grow out of it. I was very relieved to hear that!
I have been planning on moving to post housing right before Dan gets home for months now. So I call the folks at the base and apparently all they will give us is a 2 bedroom place. I was irritated by that but that is their rules... because of the age difference in the boys. Then they tell me that they have a wait list for 2br places, and that I needed to come ASAP to fill out the paperwork and get our names on the list if I wanted to try to be in on time. So I rush back to town ( I am living 2.5 hours away) I get there and by some miracle, they have "released" a few 2br places. They give me a list of places to look at- from the outside! I have NEVER heard of renting a place that you arent even allowed to look inside! Crazy- I take a look at the places and they are TRASHY- I would NEVER live there if it were off post. I found a bottom floor apartment that I could see into- and all the rooms were tiny- and had tacky tile flooring in all the rooms- and I cant imagine Griffin trying to sit up and falling over and hitting his head on that floor- So I decide living on base is NOT going to happen for us- I guess my standards are too high.
Then I had to try to find a place to rent off post. We (my mom and I) rode around for HOURS looking in the town that is closest to the base for a house- again nothing that would suit me.... finally in a town that is about 20 mins away from base I found a house! It is brand new still under construction (just minor things needing to be done at this point). The drive wont be too bad for dan and it is within our budget! So I am moving (again) on November 15th! Hopefully that will be the last time for about a year until we get our next duty station orders... have I mentioned I hate moving?
The good news is I got word that Dan MAY be back from Iraq before Christmas.

This is so good because his unit was supposed to be there til Feb. There is still a chance that he will be back after Christmas but before the end of the year. There are 250 guys that have to stay there a little longer. Of course he isnt "allowed" to tell me when he will be back- but I hope he will be with the majority of his group!
Sorry I rambled on... Thanks if you made it this far!
