Moving, may be MIA for a while
So I think I mentioned in a previous post that my DH is from PA and we are currently living near St. Louis where I grew up. Well DH got an excellent job offer back in PA, (he has been w/ this company for like 12 years, worked there in PA and transferred here to St. Louis when we moved). At first we turned the offer down, while it was a good opportunity we just werent 100% by the time they wanted an answer, had they given us more time we may have said yes to begin w/. So after we turned it down we kept talking about it and started wishing we had gone ahead and take it. See the company he works for is like a construction supply distributor, and when we lived in PA he worked at the warehouse. Here in St. Louis the only two options he has is 1. Sales in the local store or 2. Drive truck overnight delivering product to stores, which is what he does. He works long hours and is gone from about 1:00 am until usually at least 1:00 pm and when he gets home he does more work from home. He is almost always on call and can never call off even when he is sick or injured cause they have no back up. The job offer in PA, got him back in the warehouse in a management position normal 9am to 5pm hours, w/ room for advancement, not to mention the drive to work there would be 5 mins and here it's 45 mins one way. So out of the blue about a week after turning down the offer they called again and offered him a substantial pay raise, (the 1st offer came w/ a small raise). Since we were already second guessing our decision we took the offer. That was Aug 8. The downside... the want us there by Sept 8, and it's 1000 mile move and they WONT pay moving expenses (though they did get a great rate on rental truck). So at the moment we are extrememly busy and when we move to PA we are staying w/ my father in law, (they just put on an addition and have tons of extra space) but I don't know how the computer thing is going to work b/c they don't currently have internet there, so I guess we will have to order it. Anyhow so I am probably not going to be on much (if at all) for the next month or so. We have so much preparation and stuff then will take time to settle in. Poor DD starts kindergarten tomorrow. We were so hoping that we wouldnt have to move her once she started school, but there was no way for us to be there before the school year started and I didn't want her missing that much school ya know. Anyhow that's all on that subject, I will start a new thread for my other moving associated dilemma...LOL!
