Doppler driving me crazy!
Starting a couple of weeks ago I noticed a few weird things when using my doppler. First, I thought on a few occasions I heard the heart slow way down and the beat sounded uneven (like beats were skipping) but then I adjust the doppler wand and immediately the sound picks up again and is back to normal. Sort of like: beat, beat, beat, pause, beat, pause pause, beat, pause (I adjust the doppler now) beat, beat, beat, back to normal. Also, sometimes the beat never slows but I will think I hear a break in the beat as though one was skipped but at times when this has happened I can tell the baby movied. 99% of the time things sound great. The baby is constantly moving when I use the doppler and I always seem to have to "chase him down" to get the perfect heart sound.
When I go to the doctor the hb has sounded great but because I am getting paranoid and listen all of the time at home, I seem to be catching these weird patterns here and there. DH isn't worried and told me that the baby is moving all over plus there are lots of sounds down there from the placenta to my heartbeat plus the umbilical cord and baby moving. Ugh - I can't shake this worry and have been googling "fetal ahrrythmia" like crazy.
Has anyone else ever heard of something like this? It is nearly always normal but it is just sometimes when I notice the hb moving away that I start to hear the deceleration so I panic and move the doppler to catch the perfect angle again and then it picks up. I have a dr. appt tomorrow (just basic appt) so I will definitely bring this up but I am afraid she will just dismiss it as me hearing things.
