Icon5 Zofran users....another question!

Hey ladies! Sorry that I have not been on here much. I was on vacation for a couple of weeks with family, and I have still been battling the all day sickies. :[ I thought that I was doing so well, but I had a awful day yesterday combined with vomiting into the night. :[ Ugh!

I am also getting pounding headaches. I was wondering if you are or did take Zofran (I know that on the bottle it says that headaches are a sick affect) did you get headaches, how often, and did you take Advil or anything for it?

I am worried that I am taking too much advil? I probably take 2 on a fair day and 4 on a really bad day. :[

Thanks! I have a MD appt next Wed, so I am going to ask her what is going on.

I don't take Zofran, but if you are having issues with it, see about getting switched to phenergan. I haven't had any s/e from that, and it works well for me.

I could be wrong, but I didn't think you were supposed to take Advil during pregnancy. Don't really know why. I take 1 baby aspirin a day, but I also know that more than that is a bad idea. Tylenol is fine for headaches - you can take plenty of that.

I'm sorry about the headaches - are you sure they are from the medicine? A lot of women get headaches during pregnancy from the increased blood circulation. Nothing really helps that much!

I notice all the side effects I usually get with the zofran are lost when I combine it with the B6! so try that!

Yeah, Advil is a no no in pregnancy, I think Tylenol is the only real safe one. I hated the zofran side effects so basically only took it a couple weeks and when I had to. It gave me headaches and stomach pain.

Thank-you for the advice. I will definately ask my MD abt the headaches, I have never experienced this with previous pregnancies.
When I had my initial appointment with my MD though she gave me a 'workbook' of sorts and one of the safe meds for headaches was Advil? So that's the reason I have been taking it. Not sure why it would be listed if its a no-no??

Zofran has never given me a headache and I was told not to take Advil or aspirin at all. You need to talk to your doctor. For headaches try Fioricet or Hydrocodone. Both are deemed safe and have gotten me through as I am chronic migraine sufferer.

Good luck to you.

P.S. Also try ice compresses on head and back of neck. Also buy a humidifier and use it every night and a netti pot (sold in drugstores) as a lot of headaches are sinus related. If it looks like its going to rain take two extra strength Tylenol but only two.
