Update on my nuchal fold test

Well the second part of my nuchal screening went well and we will get the results this week. I did not know there was a third ultrasound as part of it in 4 weeks but all seems good. We decided on a name for our son...Roman Nabil. Roman is a Spanish name (we thought it was Italian) and Nabil is Middle Eastern to try and capture some of my family's heritage. The problem is both my parents and my husband's parents hate the name! All of our friends like it (or at least pretend to) and its the only name both my husband and I agree on. So in addition to asking what everyone thinks of the name I also want to know if any of you are in this sort of a dilemma. One last bit to mention all of them hated my daughter's name (Eloise) but have now grown to love it. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I like it, Roman was one of our choices for dd. Sounds like the names have a great meaning for you to.

Glad to hear your u/s went well and all looks good. I like the name...if you and dh both like it I would stick with it, I'm sure they would grow to like it as well.

Re: Update on my nuchal fold test
I don't think that I will tell anyone the name (if we ever agree on one) because I don't want to hear anything negative. When my sister told people what her son's name was going to be she heard a lot of negatives. BTW his name is Finnegan (Finn) and he will be 1 year old this month,

Re: Update on my nuchal fold test
Thats good your ultrasound went well. As long as you like the name, thats all that matters, they will grow to love it and get used to it like your daughter's name. My mum really doesn't like one of the girl's names I like and its a bit off putting. I'm thinking of not telling anyone the name we decided until the birth.

As for the name, all that matters is that you two are happy with it!

Re: Update on my nuchal fold test
I think people should keep their opinions to themselves when it comes to name choices... ideally you can just announce the name at the birth then no-one will have a chance to make you feel bad about your choice! Sorry your immediate family doesn't like it-- I do, FWIW
