I can't tell you how excited I am that the board has finally been set up again! I heard that there used to be a board, but it wasn't very active but I know we can fix that! My name is Heather Lynne and I'm technically not an Air Force wife for another 6 weeks, so don't hold it against me! My hubby of 1 month left earlier this week for BMT. Pretty basic introduction, and I'd love to meet others out there, so please introduce yourself here!
Hi Heather
I have been waiting for this board to come. My name is Krispin and my husband is in the Navy. We are stationed in CT. We had our miracle baby Sadie 10/29/07, she came 3 wks early. My pregnancy is a whole other story. Anyway, I am glad this board is up and going and we can be a support for eachother while DH's are gone and even back home again. I am going to try and update my siggy with a picture of my daughter. How do you do it again? Thanks, and I can't wait to get to know you.
-Krispin
Let's see, for adding pics to your sig, upload them to an image host like Photobucket and then you'll want to use the BBC Code when putting them in your signature, that's the [IMG] one.
Heather,
Thanks, I will try Phototbucket in the a.m. My husband has been in the Navy for 12 yrs. this April. We have been together for 5 yrs. and married for 2. Congrats your DIO. there is nothing better in the world that those toothless smiles first thing in the morning!
Hey ladies! I am Kristen, proud Army wife for almost 2 years. DH has been in the army for about 8 years. We are here in North Carolina, and I LOVE IT! We just added two new feet to our family in Jan - our son Landon. DH was able to be here for the whole pregnancy (Landon is a homecoming baby..hehe) and the birth I am so thankful. Can't wait to get to know you girls and support my fellow military wives
I'm a little jealous Kristin - and welcome to the board! Our surprise baby-to-be picked a rather mean time for the mommy! DH got to be here for the majority of the first trimester, but other than his graduation from BMT I wont see him until after the baby is born since I wont be moving with him for tech school. It's depressing, and I haven't been doing too well since I said goodbye on Monday. I should at least be thankful that he's not deployed or anything. But separation is hard either way.
Yayyy, it is great to finally see fellow military spouses.
I am Chelly, married to Doug who has been active duty for almost 17 years. We will celebrate 7 years of marriage in Dec. We have one furbaby, a pom a poo named Channie Lu, and 2 boys. Josh just turned 5 and Matthew turns 3 in a few months.
We are at a special duty assignment in Charlottesville, Va. Hubby will be leaving for a year in Korea the first week of June, but the boys and I are planning to stay put. Then we will pcs in July of 09 to Langley AFB as family.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Chelly

Hi Chelly Another big thanks to you for setting the board up! Much appreciated!! It's great to "meet" you.
I should probably try and contact the girls who posted over on another thread I had made asking about this board who said they were interested. There's a good number of military spouses and family members here on SK.
Can I also add that my grandfather served in the Air Force for over 20 years. I was going through some of my things at my parent's house and came across a painting of him in front of a plane [i wish i could say i knew what it was] and it was a pretty cool thing I'd never seen. My biological father has been in the Army since I was a baby, stationed out in Maryland right now. Thankfully he's never had to be deployed, although they did get stationed in Italy until my baby brother had some medical problems that too them all to Ft. Sam Houston.
I can't wait until we officially leave CA. Or I do, I should say, seeing as DH is already in TX. That day will come, though. But it will be hard to leave home!

Hi Ladies!
I'm Rain, Hubby just re-enlisted, this time Army, Prior USMC (8yrs)
We are in it for retirement and just moved to TX. for our first PCS.
We are still trying to settle in - we just moved from PA and into a house on post after a few weeks in a hotel - so I am here on and off. I am also expecting anytime now, (I have preemies, my earliest at 23 wks, so we are so happy and thankful I've made it this far!) I do have a C-section date of May 14th. So, Our Sweet 16th "Surprise" Baby will be here soon!
Can't wait to get to know everyone!!
Hi Rain!
Welcome to the new board! Congrats on the sweet 16 "suprise"! My DH is originally from a town SW of Pittsburgh. Where in PA are you from? What are the ages of your children? Dh and I almost lost our daughter at 23 wks, but I carried her until 37wks. I am glad that my DH was on shore duty at the time because it allowed him to visit me in the hospital all those moths.
Krispin - Howdy and TY! I lived in Lebanon, PA. (close to Hershey) Although I am not originally from PA. I was there from '05 til just recently. I am from Miami Beach, FL. originally.
The kids range in age from 19 to 1.
TY all, we are very excited about our "Sweet 16"
We are so anxious awaiting "the day" he/she will arrive! - We are just so relieved we've gotten this far and can enjoy being pregnant lots more!
Hi ~
I'm Heather. DH has been active duty Navy for almost 11 years. We have three sons and a "surprise" baby of our own, a daughter this time, coming in August. I'm impressed by Rain (wow - 16!)...any multiples? This will be baby number 9 for me (eight pregnancy though 'cause I had a set of twins).
Welcome!! Congrats on your suprise baby girl. My DH has been actice duty Navy for 12 yrs. Where are you guys stationed? I noticed that you are a surrogate "mommy". I think that is amazing, you are amazing!!! I would love to do that. I loved being pregnant and to be able to give the gift of a baby (or more in some cases) is the most precious thing someone could do for another family. One of our friends has a set of Irish twins because they didn't wait long enough after the big V to DTD. Ofcourse, they wouldn't have it any other way. Anyway, congrats and Welcome!!!!
We've been stationed at Tinker AFB for the past 10 years, but DH was recently accepted into a medical service corp officer commissioning program, so the Navy is sending him to school at Oklahoma State this summer to get his masters/doctorate...then we'll likely head to JAX.
Ya, I loved being a surrogate - my twin sister will be my second couple's carrier now that I'm pregnant with my own baby (they have frozen embryos and I was planning my last surrogacy with them this spring).
Our baby decided to come 4 YEARS post vasectomy...so no where near an irish twin, but she's very much wanted!
Howdy - long weekend, DD had her 9th B-day yesterday, she had a blast!
Yes, I have a set of twin girls who just turned 11 in March - March is like Christmas with 5 birthdays!
And, I am still pg! YAY! 36 weeks and counting! Woohoo!
Looks like I'm the only Marine Wife!! I'll have to recruit some more lol
I'm Kendra, my DH has been in for almost 3 years and we're stationed in North Carolina. Orginally for Texas which we miss a ton!!! We have a seven month old son Jase who is a handful! Other than that there is not much to me! hehe
I'm Kerry. DH has been active duty Air Force 16 years (in June). We are 4 years away from retirement at this point (scary thought). I however have only been a military wife since Jan. 2007 and there is an 11 year age difference between us (which I normally don't think about, lol). We are at Lackland AFB right now. DH has been there for 5 years so we could move at any time now. It would be a mixed blessing. He's ready to get to a different base but we are waiting to get into the RE. I'd like out of Texas though we are hoping that we could get Scott AFB or Wright-Patterson but it seems doubtful.
We started TTC in February of 2007 and have had no luck at all. In late January I had an ultrasound done and it showed cysts on my overies. Then in February the lab botched my PCOS testing but the docs aren't ordering another test. I got an RE referral and was told 2 months but its almost 3 now and haven't heard anything. Basically I was told I got bumped down the list for a "higher priority case". Whatever. My friend just got into the RE and she was told 2 months and it took them 10 months to get her in. So... needless to say we are pretty upset about it and at this point we aren't really expecting anything to happen any time soon so we just keep on TTC on our own.
Hi and welcome - I'm Ali, an Army girlfriend. I'm pleased the military spouse forum is up and running again too - though I admit to having had a few hiccups in registering and getting started on SK as opposed to LYC!!! Take care.
