My DH is going to be ending his shore duty at the end of this June and returning to the submarine fleet at the of July. We just had our first daughter 10/29/07. We had a very hard time conceiving and the pregnancy was challenging. I was on bed rest for 4 months and in andout of thehospital. Anyway, I am 33, going to be 34 in July and not getting any younger. We could wait 5 yrs until he is back on shore duty, but then I would be 38-39 yrs. old. Too risky... Am I crazy to be wanting to try and conceive again? I know it's going to be hard, he is hardly going to be home. Even though I was on bed rest and lots of meds while pregnant, it was the most amazing thing and I would love to be preg all the time. Is it crazy to have two baby's possibly 15 mos. apart?

I definitely don't think you're crazy for wanting another baby, even so close, women do it all the time. I hope you talk it over with DH and make the best decision for your family.

I don't think you are crazy either. I miss being pregnant. I think that is is great that your daughter would have a sibling close in age. I grew up with a brother who was 9 years older than me and always wished to have someone my age. That is why I want to have children close in age. If your DH is all for it, then why not TTC another little one Good luck hun!

Thanks guys! I had my IUD taken out in the begining of this month due to lots of pain. DH and I have decided not to use any BC and see what happens. I TTC for 3 yrs, and finally with Gonal F injections and an IUI we were successfull the first time. I am not sure if that will happen again, but I have heard that in some cases when women go on fertility treatments it kind of resets your body. We'll see. I am excited. I know it will be hard because he is going to be gone, but i absolutely love being pregnant and my daughter is our little miracle baby and the light of my life!

No I don't think you're crazy at all. You'll both make the best decision. Sounds like with the difficulties you've had in conceiving previously, delaying pregnancy for a further 5 years might not be the best for you. Good luck!!
