Rainbow Still Finger paints!

My 12 year old son still really enjoys finger painting. I'm not sure if I should continue to support this activity because I feel I am just supporting the notion that he is "still a baby". Would steering him away from one of his favorite hobbies make me a bad parent? I want to support him, but I also need him to realize he is growing up. Advice?
