I finally have time to sit down and share my birth story. On Thursday Oct. 16th, I had my normal doctors visit to do my NST. When the nurse took my blood pressure and it was so high 144/110! She thought maybe if I laid there and rested that it would go down. Well, after the NST the doctor came in and took it again and it was down, but not much at all. She then informed me that I was going to go ahead and get admitted to the hospital. I was in shock, I guess because I wasn't completely ready. It was 11am and she said I needed to be checked in by 1pm!!! Holy moly! I called dh and he came straight home from work, poor guy, when I told him it was time to go, he thought I was going in labor! LOL! So we get our bags ready and head to the hospital. We get there and they hook me up to the monitor and a nurse comes in and does my IV line. OMG, it hurt so bad and blood went everywhere. I was about to pass out. She kept apologizing, saying I had tough skin. It hurt for nearly 2 hours after she put it in. They started me on the crytotech, to thin my cervix. It was getting late, so we went to sleep.. or should I say just laid in the bed. The nurse asked if I wanted a pain pill and sleeping pill and I refused, don't ask why.. around 3:30 she came in to check my vitals and I still hadn't gone to sleep, so I finally took the meds. I slept from 3:30 to 6:00 when she came in and let me take a shower. After that, they hooked me up to the Pitocin. It was around 7am when I was hooked up and the doctor came in and broke my water and after that the contractions started coming, but not too bad. They came to check me a couple hours later and I hadn't dilated much, was only at 2cm. They upped the pitocin and an hour later I was at 3cm. The nurse came in the room and informed me that the anestesiologist was already on our floor, so she was going to go ahead and do the epidural. Wowza, it didn't hurt but it was a strange feeling and it seriously felt like I was peeing all over myself when the numbness started kicking in! Not long after that my contractions were coming pretty close together, I couldn't really feel them, but there was some feeling. Then they checked me again and I was up to 5cm, then an hour later I was up to 9cm! I started getting this aweful pain in my spine and all the way to my bellybutton and I was in so much pain. I had to send everyone out of the room. The nurse came in and checked me again and I was at 10cm. My poor dh was stressed because he could see that I was in so much pain. I started pushing at 5pm and didn't get a break with any contraction and Jacob was born at 6:58pm! He kept bobbing up and down, finally she asked me if I wanted an episiotomy and I agreed and the next push he came out! I will have to say that was the single most hardest thing i've ever done, but so well worth it. I'm completely in love with my little man, he's perfect

He had some jaundice, so they had to keep him an extra day, that was the hardest thing, having to leave him while we went home, I cried the whole way home. He got to come home that next night. We went up to the hospital that morning and stayed the whole day and did the feedings. He's fine now
Jacob Wayne was 6lbs 9oz 19 3/4inches and his apgars was 8/9!!!
Sorry so long! Thanks for reading.
