Default My appt.

First off after I peed in a cup they wanted me to go down and give blood. What!? I never heard of that. As I was waiting in the chair to get my blood taken I asked why they were drawing it. She said it's for your prenatal. I told her I never heard of that happening at my consultation appt. The other lady at the desk said they only check it if there is something they are looking for. Or if something is wrong that they are looking out for.

Now I am scared. I also had to transport my pee to them, too. lol. I have never done that. I never heard of getting your blood drawn at 6 weeks. I did at my 10 week pap and u/s appt, but not my consultation.

Weird! I am going to call Friday and ask what's up with that. It was right after I took their pg test that she left and told me to go give my blood.

Tiffany, maybe they are just getting it out of the way right now instead of at 10 wks. Think the best until you hear otherwise. I'm scheduled for a blood draw & history appt just prior to my first actual OB appt.... Hopefully everything comes back just fine.

NOt that I am full of experience... but I had natal blood stuff done last week with my first blood preganany test and she said it was normal checking.... I totally think that you should go and ask what it is all about because at least they should have told you about it before hand. The doctor at my walk in did....

I hope everything still goes great I am sure that it will....

I had my blood done at 6 wks with my last 2 babies. Otherwise, with my boys, they didn't until 10 wks. Maybe they are looking at your #s???
I hope they tell you soon!

I had my first OB appt last week and they did my blood as well as urine. I assumed it was routine as they seemed to be taking plenty of samples from everyone.
Don't worry, I'm sure everything is fine. It's probably routine at some offices and not at others, the same way early u/s's are.

The blood draw seems pretty standard, at least from my own experience and those of some of the other girls! I am sure the results will be wonderful!

I totally understand your concern, but I really doubt it is anything big. Some docs take blood, while others (like mine) need to be BEGGED!
Maybe consider yourself lucky to have a thorough one??

Is this a new OB or the one you weren't crazy with to begin with?
