I have my 16 week appt. today, so i'm going to ask her when the soonest I can have an u/s to find out the sex is. I'm really hopnig to go back in 2 weeks to find out.

Mine will be with a 3D 4D US in 9 days! The lady I go to says she can tell you at 13 -14 weeks with her machine. I will be 15.1 weeks.

I think you get a different answer depending on who you talk to. When I was pg with my son, I was told, they would not do gender until 20 weeks. I know two pg people right now and they were both told that gender is 20 weeks. I spoke with someone I know yesterday who has 3 kids and she found out the gender of her first at 14 weeks, her second at 16 weeks and her third at 15 weeks but she was high risk and had a lot of extra ultrasounds.

Most places tell you 18+ weeks because they don't want to tell you one sex and be wrong and you come back at them. IF you find a tech. that is confident and has a high tech machine they can tell you at 13 + weeks.

Yep, I agree. They usually tell you the sex at 18wks and I've got my scan scheduled at 19wks so I'll find out then, but with Sofia they told me at 16wks, so it also depends on how good an image they get on the day.
I have to wait till June 21st...:o(
I am doing the 3-D at 16 weeks. You can tell earlier, but the u/s place I am going to said at 16 weeks they make cute facial expressions and stuff. I want to do the gender thing plus pics, so it works out great. The only "proof" I need is my u/s pics from my last appt because they want to make sure I am seeing a doctor. Like the other ladies said different places say different things. Mine is mainly gender determination.
I was getting ready to start a thread of my own until I saw this one...I am so going to have to get one of these done before my 20 week appt. There's a place where I live that will actually do a 2d guaranteed gender determination before 23 weeks, but I've got to call today and find out the details. If I can find out 4 weeks early I want to! I'm 15 weeks, but I'll wait to have it done at 16 just to be on the safe side. I'm just wanting to find out the gender mostly, so I'm going to go with the 2d instead of the 3 or 4d because it's much cheaper too...and guaranteed!
Well.................I have a regular u/s on May14th (this weds) I always get so nervous as it approaches, I just had an appt last week, and we heard the babies hb on doppler, so rationally I know everything is okay, but emotionally is another story!
My u/s after that is June 3rd.................She said she may be able to tell this Wednesday (15wk 4days), if not definitely by June 3rd 18 weeks 3 days. I can't find a place that does the 3d/4d u/s here, but then again I haven't been aggresively searching.............I'll really start looking this week!

I'll be having just the regular ultrasond that the doctor orders up. Its on June 9th so I'll be not quite 18 weeks along. I found out with my other three when I was 17-20 weeks along.
I didn't even realize you could have u/s without a doctor's consent. Are these walk in type places that have u/s machines? I guess I haven't heard of anyone doing u/s other than doctor ones so I didn't even know it was possible. So out of the loop LOL.
